Fantastic dinner, second visit after two year absence! Great service provided by Myles. Tried the specials onion soup and fried flounder. Also tried grilled oysters and pork chop from menu. All very good. Chef Steve stopped by to check on us. Generous portions so took coconut cake togo. Highly recommended!

My husband and I have been here a few times now and everything is always amazing. It’s definitely one of our favorite restaurants. We had dinner here again tonight and as always, it was perfect. Unfortunately though, my clumsy self spilt my mocktail everywhere, but our waiter and another staff member were super nice about everything and got it cleaned up immediately. They were so quick that I ended up not even having any stains on my outfit from the incident. Anyway, if you’re looking for great food, great service, and a cozy atmosphere, definitely try out Molasses Grill!

Great spot! Best Calamari I’ve ever had, melted in my mouth. The Crab cake special was amazing. It came with a zucchini slaw that bursted with summer flavors. My lovely had a tasty arugula salad and Fried Green tomatoes with a nice pesto base. We shared a key lime pie with a raspberry drizzle that left you wanting more. They have a great drink menu as well…their summer cocktails were very good…They also work up some great mocktails. Family owned business with a lot of charm. Don’t sleep on this place. Well worth it! Almost forgot….you can buy the ice cream by the pint. We got the blueberry Goat cheese and can not wait to dive in to it! We will return 😍

Molasses was highly recommended to us by an employee/bartender at Springfield Distillery. One of the best meals and dining experiences I have ever had. Our server Cristina was friendly, welcoming and extremely attentive. We were a party of 4- 2 of us ordered the grouper special and 2 order ed the filet mignon. Everything was wonderful!!

Mom and I enjoyed a wonderful meal for Mother's Day. They gave us the beautiful table by the window we requested. We ordered all the evening's specials and it was a true dining experience! The service was great with the food coming out in perfect timing. The coconut cake was the best I've ever had "sorry mom". We will be coming back to this local gem more often!!

Two things are guaranteed for any trip to molasses grill: (a) everything you order will be absolutely delicious, but (b) you will be there for hours. My dad used to joke that they got their name from being slower than molasses. But for real, it's worth the wait. They have a tiny kitchen and they regularly work miracles in it.
Also, if you don't get the calamari, it's effectively a complete waste of a trip. Their filet mignon dish could use an overhaul though.

We've driven by this place in the way to visit my parents for 20 years. I've always heard great things. Pictures looked wonderful but we could never make it work.
We finally made it last minute on the drive to Lynchburg from Durham and will definitely be back.
The interior is warm and inviting. Casual elegance (is that even a term?😂)
Menu had a nice selection without being overwhelming and i think this allows them to do what they do well.
