My friend and I visited Harrisonburg from out of town and really liked the menu while searching online. We came in on a Monday morning and we were able to get simple, yet delicious food for a great price. The sandwiches were delicious and my friend LOVED the potatoes! I felt bad for the guy working because he was ringing up food, waiting tables, cooking, writing checks for the linen guys, stocking the restaurant, and I'm sure much more! He looked over worked. Not sure if it's because it was a Monday, but I think he would really benefit from having a cook there if he still needs to do all that other work. He was still fast and efficient though!

This place was recommended to us by a young man working at The Madison Hotel and Conference Center, we wanted a traditional breakfast but not your run of the mill place (not a chain or franchise) the Artful Dodger definitely fit the bill. I actually would probably give it a 5 but the bench i sat on felt like it hasn't had padding since the early 70's and the front patio allows smoking , otherwise we would have eaten out there. Cool vibe, nice people, quirky decor and great food.

Spent over an hour waiting for food. Waiter didn't even talk to us once. Wouldn't recommend especially if you park in any of the time sensitive parking.

Delicious food. The artisan French toast is to die for. The pot-o-tots is perfect for eating your sorrows, but since it's serve in a flower pot, you'll feel classy and unique the whole time. A great balance between health and comfort foods. Great vibe. Local artists' work on display, often have live music. Eclectic interior. Wonderful staff: chill, friendly, helpful.

We had a pretty delicious brunch here one Sunday. The food was quite tasty and very reasonably priced. We had a really awesome waiter that morning but I forget his name.

So... I was there one time 11 years ago, visiting friends and meeting new people, and it's still my favorite coffee shop and bar I've ever been to! I'm from Portland Oregon, lived in Miami/Fort Lauderdale Florida for the last 4 years, and have been to all sorts of places similar in between... but I will never forget this place... the sketch books everywhere, the art sharing, the decor, just... amaze-balls!!!

We were heading home from NC to PA and decided to stop in town and see if there were any breweries. Capitol is next door but wasn't quite my style. As we drove into the square we were welcomed by Artful's rainbow flags flying high! They're family we said!! So glad we got to enjoy this gem. I wasn't feeling so well so I got the soup d'jour and they made me grilled cheese to go with it!! The Bloody Mary, for vitamin C of course, was great too! Thanks Ladies!!
