I am able to eat gluten and I STILL think that the cake I had from BMC bakes was one of the best I have ever had in my life. I also recently started coming here for pastries and coffee and Sarah, the baker, is absolutely wonderful. Great customer service and great atmosphere. Highly recommend paying her a visit!

I went for the ube cookies and macarons but ended up getting a variety of things because it all looked so good! My favorite was the apple donut! So soft, moist and hard to tell it was gluten free. I didn't realize they also make coffee drinks like lattes so I'll be back to try those next!

Sarah created the most stunning wedding cake I’ve ever seen. I asked for a design inspired by the night sky with my husband’s and my astrological constellations, and she brought it to life flawlessly. Not only was it beautiful, but it was delicious and gluten-free. She even made a second cake just for our grandfather’s 100th birthday, which we celebrated during the wedding! His favorite dessert is a Boston Creme, and she nailed it in a cake version! Communication was excellent every step of the way, and she truly went above and beyond to make our day so special. Not to mention it's the best gluten-free bakery I've ever been to! We travel a lot, and finding GF bakeries is kind of our thing, and when I tell you she's the best, I can't stress it enough. It's an absolute MUST every time we are even remotely close to the Harrisonburg area.

BEST BAKERY IN HARRISONBURG. I asked countless bakeries if they could make me a classic caramel cake, which takes a good amount of effort. All of them said no, except for BMC Bakes. Not only was the cake as intricate as I ordered, but it was THE MOST DELICIOUS THING WE HAD EVER PUT IN OUR MOUTHS and the price was super reasonable! GET ALL YOUR CAKES AND DESERTS FROM HERE I AM TELLING YOU IT IS SO WORTH IT!

My sister in law mentioned this place so when it was time for my mother in law's birthday party that included several folks with Celiac, I asked if they could make two pies. I got an almost immediate response. People raved about the pies at the party. The shop is very cute and there is a wide variety of treats and drinks to choose from. The non GF attendees including myself agreed it tasted great and would never suspect it was GF without knowing! Will definitely return!! HEAVENLY desserts that are allergen friendly! I’ve been struggling to find dairy and soy free desserts that taste edible but these go ABOVE AND BEYOND. I live 30 minutes away but will be a regular regardless. You have to try this place whether you need allergen free desserts or not-you won’t be able to tell the difference!

I took home 2 loaves of bread ( I used for sandwiches), 4 biscuits, 3 slices of Bundt cake and 2 cinnamon buns 2-1/2 weeks ago and can't get there fast enough to replenish. Every item was like eating wheat bread--this is a gluten free bakery. Few and far between to find. Please buy here, don't let her close down!
BMC Bakes created an amazingly delicious cake for my Grad! I added a few of their cupcakes and I created a few school logos as the grad requested :-) after I got it home. It was a lot of fun and we wished we had bought a few more! LOL thank you guys at BMC! This was a very special and memorable day!!!!

Overall, the pastries are really good. I like their cookies and apple donuts. They always have a variety of stuff, and even their bread is suprisingly good for being gluten-free. I ordered a BMC white chocolate raspberry 8” cake and it was ready as agreed upon, special touches perfect (sprinkles on the sides and writing on top), and was a hit with my guests! Multiple people asked where it was from and commented on the silkiness of the cake. Huge hit - will return again and again!
