My peach slush was good, but the atmosphere and service left much to be desired. The bench I sat on was stained and rock hard, and no music is playing; the only sound you can hear throughout the cafe is the mechanical droning of refrigerators. The layout of the cafe makes it difficult to find the small handheld menus, and there is no larger menu posted anywhere to be found. In terms of service, the staff seemed relatively friendly, but when I returned to the counter to ask for a crepe holder, the staff member I was speaking to cut my question short after acknowledging me by abruptly turning 180° away from me mid-sentence. All in all, the poor staff interaction and uncomfortable atmosphere left a bad taste in my mouth that my peach slush can't remove.

Food was good but… service was so unprofessional lmao. Immediately coming in, there is no music & the smell of fish hits you. Furniture is not well maintained- some type of colorful liquid spill on couch. Nothing wrong with that too much but it’s fine. Not even being a Karen, like I’ve worked food service for years so I’m not even being one, but like they’re lowkey rude. First time here, barely any customers, and somehow still had to find the menu by myself… but fine whatever right? But then the lady had me repeat my order 3 times because she is not even trying to listen to you order, she’s spinning around and just talking to her coworkers about personal stuff and laughing. Like bruh if I’m spending $20+ at your establishment, u can atleast acknowledge your customer lol. Then when they hand me my food, they reach over other customers to give me stuff and try to get me out of the way. They just hand me two drinks and one crepe all at the same time like I have 3 arms. My crepe cardstock that envelopes the crepe was covered in yogurt and then they didn’t even care to give me a metal crepe holder so I could set it down. They don’t even have a place to put the orders down which is kinda weird. Nicest thing abt this place is the floral bench decoration. In fact I was nice, saying hi how are you and all, they just wanted me to order right away- despite it being my first time here and they don’t have a menu hung up at all 💀

J-petal in Harrisonburg never disappoints! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Their poke bowls are my absolute go-to every time — packed with fresh ingredients, generous portions, and amazing flavor combinations. The service is friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming, and it’s easily one of the best spots in town for a satisfying meal. Highly recommend!

Absolutely love J-Petal. My only con is they tend to mess up my order more times than not and have to go back in and have it fixed (usually toppings they did not put in my poke bowl) Drinks are really good and look forward to trying other menu items.

This is one of the best poke powls I've had ❤️ a lot of places don't have topping options like salmon skin and tofu skin.. Both are the best!! Shrimp is also not another common option but it tasted amazing

I have frequented this place for years, and normally love it. This time there were less experienced people making the food and although I paid for added fish it was not added. Did not notice until I got home. They were out of brown rice and other items even though it was opening time on a Saturday. I was disappointed. I hope this is not a trend.

I picked up two poke bowls for me and my daughter yesterday. The first thing I noticed was the filthy exterior of both indoor trash cans. Then I noticed how sticky the floors were. This was not nice but I figured maybe they just had an off day. But my daughter got violently sick a few hours after eating her dinner and was throwing up all night. She’s better today so we think it was food poisoning. Won’t be going back.
