My wife and 18-year-old son ate here while in Harrisonburg to visit JMU. It was our first time in town. The restaurant was very to find using GPS. There are a few parking spaces beside the restaurant. We used the Water Street Parking deck which is on W. Water St. one block from the restaurant. If the bottom deck is full you can go to the end of the street and access the upper deck. The Manager, Erick welcomed us and told our server that it was our first time in the restaurant. We felt welcomed and the atmosphere was very good. We went up a spiral staircase to get to the upper floor and sat in a booth. The server came quickly and took our drink order. We don't drink alcohol, but they have an extensive drink list. We all got smoked meat from the Pit menu. The meats were all very good. The sauces at the table add flavor. The sides are all homemade and tasted great. We had the macaroni, Brussel sprouts, and Yukon mashed potatoes; all were cooked well and tasted very good. The food came in a reasonable time. There was a long line to be seated as we were leaving. We did not get dessert. We did not use the restroom, so I don't know how clean that was. The cost of the food was reasonable. I'd come back to eat here, and I'd recommend it to my family and friends. Thanks for a nice experience.

Had the special of the day, double burger with a side of the brussel sprouts. Definitely have the sprouts if you can.
We got into town on the later side and were looking for dinner. So glad this place was open! We sat on the rooftop deck and the bartender (says Arwen on the receipt) waited on us. She was awesome making sure we didn’t wait on anything or need anything. The manager was super accommodating as well with requests. Overall we would definitely come back if we were in the area again!

First time I had ever been here and the food was amazing. We had Justin as our server and he was very personable, he knew the menu and gave great suggestions. He is one of the best servers we have ever had, the tea was filled when needed and he even made conversation with us. I love the brisket and the Brussels sprouts. Definitely recommend!!
