Seth, our server, was wonderful and so welcoming. We will definitely be back when we're in the area!
The food was outstanding - creative and perfectly presented. We liked especially that the menu is locally sourced from the surrounding farming community wherever possible. Our server Nina was very professional, polite and helpful. We will definitely be back!
Had dinner last night and it was excellent. We were part of a wedding party and the staff could not have been more accommodating. The menu had a Filet Mignon which was excellent along with green beans and potatoes au gratin. Everything was executed perfectly - if you are in the area this is definitely worth a visit.
We found the Joshua Wilton House restaurant to be a surprisingly beautiful experience. The food was superb. The service was more than excellent. The atmosphere was perfect for our 49th anniversary dinner. We will definitely be going back.
Creative dishes well-executed using local and select ingredients, very attentive service, great beverage choices including house-made hazelnut liqueur. Golden tilefish over Parisian gnocchi and broccoli, strawberry peppercorn cheesecake. One of the best reasons to go out, to eat dishes you would not make yourself. Continues to be the best restaurant in the valley.
My husband and I went for dinner last evening. It was our 20th Anniversary and from the moment we walked through the doors, we were met with staff wishing us a "Happy Anniversary" We were seated at the best table, near the bay window where we saw a beautiful sunset. The waiter, Seth, was just amazing! He poured a glass of bubbly, on the house. We then had THE most amazing dinner that we've had in a long time. Ranks in the top three dinners that we've ever had and we have travelled a lot. Was just amazing. I highly recommend Joshua Wilton. It is truly the best dining experience in the area or any area for that matter. We are blessed. '
This felt more like coming home than it did 3 nights out of town. It was very peaceful and comfortable. I have food allergies that they were willing to accommodate and that was nice. We ended up staying an extra night. It is super clean and beautifully restored. We did not eat meals beyond breakfast because we chose to eat at a few local restaurants instead. The area is beautiful. We stayed here because our granddaughter had a regional track meet at James Madison University. Staying here was a far better choice than staying at the local Holiday Inn that was over $400.00 a night which we felt was extreme. We made the right choice to stay here. I would definitely stay here again without a doubt. I highly recommend this option.
This was the first time we have eaten there and would certainly go back again. We were not rushed and waiter Seth was wonderful. Food was unique and presentation lovely.
Fantastic! A new favorite!
First of all the atmosphere was a delight. The service spot on topped off by one excellent course after another. Beautiful spot to have some wonderful cocktails and catch up with old friends.

We had a wonderful Anniversary dinner at this restaurant last evening. They treated us very well and the food was absolutely delicious. the servers were pleasant and engaging and attentive, and the pace of the food and drink was just right! Chef French presents creative and interesting dishes and the atmosphere is elegant and relaxed and very comfortable.
What a disappointment our stay was! I was clued to the fact that something wasn’t right when we asked to pay during check-in. After we paid we were told that there’d be no breakfast, as was advertised. Apparently there is a staff shortage issue, but they still charge the full rate. Not good! Then we found that our rooms had no towels. That was resolved by going down to ask for towels. However, we then realized there was no soap or shampoo. We didn’t want to go down again as the severe shortcomings had reached the saturation point. We left first thing in the morning, greatly disappointed and vowing to never return.
The only saving grace is that the dinner we had there was excellent. So, my recommendation is to eat there but stay somewhere else.
Went with friends and it was great! We had the meatballs and charcuterie for appetizers; great cocktails; and had the fish of the day (mahi mahi), filet, pork, and a creole dish and crème brûlée for dessert. The food, service, and atmosphere were all perfect.
I find the food to be absolutely delicious and the service takes it over the top. When you compare to other local restaurants the prices are really very reasonable.

We started at the bar. Such a cozy space to start your evening. Specialty Cocktails are creative and all drinks are well-made. Our dinner experience was outstanding. The mushroom bisque was amazing-kudos to the Chef! The spring risotto with lemon was incredible with a unique loghtness not found in most risotto dishes. Lamb was cooked perfectly. A wonderful meal enhanced by a quiet and elegant atmosphere!!
