Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse

This used to be my favorite restaurant. We would come here all the time and for every type of celebration. Sadly I think those days are over now. The prices have skyrocketed, the portions have gotten smaller, they now charge you almost $3 to get extra yum yum sauce, and it no longer comes with soup. I was always willing to spend the money coming here because the food used to be worth it; it no longer is. We will be going to Sakura from now on; much better prices and quality.

Food, my opinion, was good but missing something.. Service was fast and attentive.. Atmosphere was ok... Had dinner here on a Monday night, I was the only person in the restaurant. Service and Atmosphere scores may be different on a busy night.

Food was very tasty. Experience was great. Chef was fun and social. Kept us entertained. Was very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. Old school hibachi atmosphere. Enjoyed everything

Kyoto is our favorite date night spot! Last night Alex and Virginia gave us exceptional service and delicious food and drinks!

I didn't do hibachi this time, but had sushi which was excellent! Still sat at a hibachi table though as my friend did order it and enjoyed the show as always. I've been here many times and plan on coming back many more.

This was the most nastiest place I’ve been too. The servers could not get our order right for nothing, my drink had something floating in it. The clear soup looked as if it was poisoned. Then our cook was AWFUL he dropped the oil bottle into our food he just kept banging the silverware and not really a show like I thought. ALL FOR 80 dollar. I recommend you take a 45 min drive to Charlottesville and got to Sakura, it’s wayyyy better than here and worth the money

Went there on Thursday and our cook was awesome. Our server was sweet too. The restaurant was a little dirty with dishes all over tables but food was good.
Here is where my negative review comes from:
I left my purse there on Thursday (entirely my own fault) I realized it on Saturday as I did not need it on Friday.
I called right when they opened at 11:00 and asked a man If anyone turned in a purse. He instantly said no and hung up the phone.
We were vacationing and about to leave to go back to New Jersey. My husband and I decided to go in person due to how quickly the restaurant got me off the phone.
My husband walked in and low and behold,
My purse was absolutely there.

First time at this restaurant. Was not disappointed. Staff was very friendly. The chef was lively and entertaining. Food was very good.
Definitely recommend.

We were on vacation for the week and wanted hibachi. This place has such an old school feel. The food was great. Service was awesome. Our chef was funny and interactive. Nice size shrimp and scallops. A little weird that they cut their shrimp but we still had plenty of food. I love that their napkins had their logo on it. Never seen that before.
