My family (party of 6) went to Macado’s today around 3:45 pm after moving our freshman into her dorm. We stood there for a good 6-7 minutes before anyone came and greeted us. Finally, a girl with a brownish ponytail and glasses came to the hostess area. She told us that it would be a 15 minute wait because she was the only person cleaning tables and seating people. She was very rude. I said ok and let her know that we had been there about 6-7 minutes already. Then she asked a Door Dash driver that was waiting what she wanted. The lady told her that she was there for a Door Dash pick up and she said “for who” in the most hateful manner. After she took care of her, she went back to cleaning tables. The tables had already been cleared and she was going from table to table sitting down, spraying them and wiping them. I watched her do about six tables and still never seated us. She eventually came back to the front where she took the name of another couple and gave them the same story about how she was the only one cleaning tables so there was a wait. There were very few people sitting down in the restaurant at this time mind you. The lady that had left with the Door Dash order had also came back inside with the order. Your employee looked at her and said “What?” She told her that the drinks were missing. She replied “Oh my God” and reached in the cooler to get the drinks that she had neglected to get to begin with. She again, was extremely rude. She didn’t acknowledge us and went back to cleaning tables. I am embarrassed to say that we waited about 30 minutes and she never sat us so we left. We watched about 15 other people come in and leave after no one ever came to take their names. We wouldn’t have waited that long but our daughter wanted to eat there. We went to another place that seated us right away, had friendly and fast service, and was giving freshmen a free dessert. It is disappointing that your place was so understaffed on move-in weekend and that the lady seating people obviously lacks people skills.

I am leaving a 5 star review because Macados deserves that for what they are. I came for a good sandwich (the Annie Oakley) and a beer. The sandwiches were amazing and the restaurant is very cool. Our server Jess was awesome as she made a suggestion for a beer my husband may like and she was spot on. Service was quick and we had a good time. FYI - the chips are ruffles in a bag. I swapped this for a side salad.

The atmosphere is just as described. It's fun and definitely meant for a college town. I had never been to this location before and had to try it out. Didn't even know there was another outside of Farmville. Our waitress was on top of everything. Had 3 in our party. Loved the fried chicken on artisan bun and macaroni and cheese. The chicken parmesan wrap was a hit with the fresh fruit cup. Chicken wings with garlic parmesan was way too salty, that covered up everything else. Another let down and shock was no refills on regular coffee, added charge. Seriously! I don't know about refills on anything ask, wouldn't surprise me.

I love Macados! I come weekly for their 39 cent wing deal which is hard to beat. The food is always fresh and with the deal they run twice a week it is a truly amazing value for the quality and portion of food you receive for the price!
The entire staff is always kind and makes sure that my order is correctly fulfilled. In the very few times there have been mistakes/miscommunication, the wait and kitchen staff is very quick to make it right which is something that I always appreciate as a paying customer with both dine in and To Go orders.
While the whole Macado's staff is incredible, two servers I would like to highlight in this review are Jacob and Logan. They both offer EXCEPTIONAL service and make the visit to Macado's (whether I am solo dining or with friends) a great and memorable experience that keeps me coming back each week. They are always attentive, make sure I have everything I need, check in frequently, and are very friendly and proactive in their server role-all things I highly appreciate as a customer!
Overall, I highly recommend Macado's if you are in the Harrisonburg area. Their menu has a ton of variety, they have daily specials on both food and drinks, and I guarantee you will find something you like whether it be chicken wings, burgers, or their famous sandwiches on the menu!

I definitely have never walked into a non packed, tables everywhere restaurant and told that it would be a 20 minute wait because they just got two tables. The host couldn’t smile or make eye contact and was just a zombie when she talked. what a great first impression. We dont even want to try it anymore.
Salads are not that good. Menu offered mixed greens but it was iceberg ....

No bacon on my sandwich? (This is from a year ago.) This is now 5/16/25, and I see that all roast beef sandwiches have been removed from the online order menu. I hope it's brought back.
