We tried Sushi Jako last night for Valentine’s Day. Come to find out they only have one sushi chef so it took a long time to get our food. The sushi rolls weren’t rolled as tightly as I would prefer and some of the tuna has a strong fishy taste and smell. Overall good though.

Best sushi I've had in Harrisonburg! Good sushi is hard to come by in this town but so far, Sushi Jako has been the best I've had. It wasn't as good as sushi places in big cities, but for a small town in does a good job in satisfying that sushi craving. Didn't dine in, but the inside was cozy with a warm ambiance. Service was a bit slow.

This has become our go to for delicious fresh sushi when we're at Massanutten. The sashimi was melt in your mouth. The service is friendly and the place is quiet and cozy. The prices are excellent especially compared to northern Virginia. We're definitely coming back soon.Disclaimer: They say service at lunch can be slow because there's no server? I don't know what that means so be prepared for that.
Very good sushi / Asian restaurant in a strip mall. Don't let the simple appearance deceive you, the food is outstanding and the sushi rolls creative. Friendly staff. 4.5 stars. (they need to make the small side salad that comes with a meal bigger. It's tiny.)
We would come back again. Service and food were very good. The waitress and chef were extremely busy but still remained polite and professional. We ordered the love boat, udon, beef noodles and a special roll off the board. Everything was great. We did ordered miso soup and it was just a bit bland. I did not see an tofu or seaweed.

The sushi here is of incredibly high quality, it’s beautifully prepared, and it comes in generous portions. Also, every meal comes with complimentary Miso and Salad! It’s a small, cozy, and relaxing dining atmosphere.Kudos to the chef, as you instantly recognize his masterful attention to detail. The food here is superb and it’s my favorite Japanese restaurant in the area. I cannot recommend this place enough :)

Showed up on a Saturday pevening, restaurant closed due to "low supply", poor management and ordering, should work harder to manage this aspect of the restaurant if it's your livelihood. Suggest call ahead if you plan it or go to another sushi place instead.

The sushi rolls were huge and truly delicious. The bibimbap was not the best I've ever had but tasty nonetheless, certainly not bad. Great service, especially considering it seemed like the chef was the only one working there. Nice calm atmosphere.
