I've eaten Indian food in both this country and across India. This meal gets a mixed review. I was pleasantly surprised to see one Puri dish on the menu. I associate that with South India cuisine, which is very hard to find here, though I didn't sample it.
First the good: our main dishes were the goat curry and eggplant (Baigan Burta on the menu, or Bengan Bharta, the name more familiar to me). The goat curry was pretty good, though lacking spices for my taste. The menu said it was bone-in, but I only found one small bone fragment. The eggplant was a more authentic presentation than most Indian restaurants, chunkier and less tangy. I enjoyed it, though I do also enjoy the amchoor-laden, creamy version that's more common here in the States.
We began the mean with onion bhaji. They lacked flavor and were somewhat undercooked--not very crunchy on the outside and uncooked flour on the inside. (I would assume that's gram flour,, not wheat.)
We also each had a lassi. My companion's mango lassi was exactly what one would expect, sweet and fruity. But my salted lassi was distractingly overladen with other spices. I'm pretty sure they included cumin, coriander, and cardamom. I came to love the simple salted lassi I drank from Madurai to Dehradun, so this was a real disappointment.
The service was okay but not great. After being pestered every two minutes to place our order, the waiter disappeared. I had to flag him from across the room for more water. Balance is apparently challenging.
Would I rather eat at the little Indian grocery in Culver City,, CA, or better yet at Sri Krishna Vilas in Colombo, Sri Lanka, or off a banana leaf in Madurai? Absolutely. But I'm here, not there. Sometimes you take what you can get.

This is the worst experience I have had in a very very long time. I. The pictures below you see I ordered lamb karhai, which had 80% vegetables and 20% lamb, which in the right mind puts cauliflower, carrots, edamame etc. in karhai?!?!?! No where did it say in the menu it had all that either, it was like having vegetable stew rather than karhai!
Then comes the butter chicken biryani, I am not kidding at all, we did not even bother eating, see the video attached, you can BARELY find any chicken whatsoever, and the chicken I found was far far away from being butter chicken, this restaurant really took us for a ride, I do not know how in the hell it has the rating of 4.6 from 660 people!!!
To the restaurant owner, you should be ashamed of selling such food to your customers, taj of India?! Not even fit for slippers of India!!
Pathetic and tasteless, save your money please, it is not worth it at all

Very mediocre Indian restaurant. Food is uninspired and not really as flavorful as I would expect from an Indian place. The spice level is also really low (initially ordered a 4/5 spice level because I am not arrogant to order the max as a non-indian, but there was genuinely no spice there; I then ordered 5/5 and it was a barely anything) Service was lackluster, had to actively try to get the waiter's attention when anything was needed. Biryani was too soft and not grainy enough. Mango lamb was really good tho.

The buffet food was okay. It lacked spice. Most of the food was barely warm. Overall, not that great to be honest.

Loved the food and specially loved the staff ! Highly recommended!
Had dine-in here last week. While the food here was just average, two things happen here. First there is the difference in the the price of the Chat items shown on the board outside the door, and in the menu price which served at the table. See clearly in the pic, that the price of a samosa chat is $7.95 in the menu, while we billed $17.9 for 2 samosa chat. Second thing happen is that they charged our credit card $39. 37 while the amount was $31.37 (+2 dollar tip) in the bill. So are these things are normal in an Indian restaurant or it is just Taj of India or shame of India !!!

This is the best Indian restaurant I've been to hands down. The food is amazing, the drinks just as good. There is a bit of something for everyone. Even if you think you don't like Indian food please give this place a try, it could really change your mind. Also I highly recommend the mango drink!
