Tequila Modern Mexican

I don’t ever write reviews but this experience was so bad I had to. My boyfriend and I went for a late lunch today and we ordered an appetizer and 2 entrees. One of our water glasses was extremely dirty and had what looked like dried avocado on the rim. The server was apologetic and brought another one out. He checked on us 2 seconds after the food came out before we even took a bite, and we didn’t see him again until after we had already finished eating. My boyfriend and I both serve at restaurants so we try our best to be great customers and leave good tips. At the end we politely asked for boxes, and my boyfriend apologized and explained that his burrito was just too spicy and he didn’t like it/couldn’t eat it. He never asked to send it back or for it to be taken off the bill, he was just simply expressing a concern. The server then proceeds to say “well that’s just how we do it how are we supposed to know what you like that’s not our fault. that’s just how we make it here i don’t know what to tell you.” rude, but okay. so we just said okay in a polite tone and he proceeds to tell us to leave. I ask if we could still get our boxes anticipating that we just had to pay for everything including the burrito. He just says to us “no you are not going to take anything or pay for anything you are just going to go” and stormed away from the table. This all happened in like 10 seconds, he went from 0-100 in such a short amount of time and we weren’t even sure how to respond other than just leaving. I guess we won because we got a free meal, but the fact that he would’ve rather lost out on good paying customers than offer to take a burrito off the check was insane. never coming here again.

We asked our server for boxes to take some of our food to go and mentioned that one of the burritos we ordered was “a little too spicy”. He immediately and rudely began to reply “How are we supposed to know what you like, that’s how we cook it. Thank you, you can leave.” At that point we asked for the boxes again and the check and he just kept insisting that we leave without paying for anything. His response was unnecessarily aggressive and rude considering we never intended not to pay for our entire meal. Both my friend and I work as restaurant servers and we would never treat a guest that way. I obviously can never go back there and it’s a shame because the food is pretty good. The attitude he had and him kicking us out what so mean and uncalled for.

You can't go wrong with good mexican food. I will be back to this place if I ever pass through again.

I like this place so much that I went 2 times in a week lol. Food fresh and fast, seasoned good and service was good too. I wish they staff tried their own menu items to help make recommendations because it helps a lot to get their opinion. Definitely sets a standard for other Hispanic restaurants in my area too.

Came with my co-workers! One got molcajete, A lava bowl filled with Ranchero salsa, rice, grilled steak, chicken, chorizo, shrimp, cactus, tomato, cambray onion, jalapeño toreado and queso fresco, served with beans, bandera salad and tortillas
which looked and smelled amazing but it's a lot of food so just be ready, on got tacos al pastor which is my favorite tacos in the whole world! So 🔥 one got the agave special, Grilled steak, chicken breast, and grilled shrimp, served with rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, jalapeno toreado, street corn. He said it was phenomenal. I got al pastor Nachos!!!! Which the al pastor was finely made and meet my expectations and then proceeded to take my taste buds to the moon😩😩☺️☺️. The restaurant itself was clean very well decorated and the vibes are very chill, I like my Mexican restaurants lit but thats just me didn't get any drinks because I'm on a business trip but I saw a couple and they looked great👍.

Food was excellent. Restaurant was very clean and we enjoyed the quieter atmosphere. We were able to have conversations without feeling like we had to shout over loud music or noise. Little pricey but worth it. Our server had a little difficulty communicating worth us and had to get someone else to help. Definitely would return.

I ordered Pollo Toreko and Elote Dip with a premium margarita to go. OUTSTANDING! Generous portions, steaming hot still when I got to hotel room and absolutely delicious! Highly recommend and I will return on my next trip to Harrisonburg!!

The absolute best tacos I've ever eaten! The service was great. They told us that they're opening a location in Naples Florida. Can't wait to visit. The service was awesome and the staff was very friendly. The food hands down can't be beat. The best of tacos on the planet.

Excellent food and very kind waiters. All the flavors are exactly how you'd like them to be. Arroz loco con pollo highly recommend.
