We came here after some exploring around historic Harrisonburg and were craving a snack of onion rings and fries. We ordered the chili cheese fries and onion rings along with some soda. The feel is definitely a diner feel and we enjoyed sitting at the counter and chatting with the service staff.The food came out fast and was made to order. The cheese on the fries is like a nacho cheese taste and consistency and the chili is a meat chili that has a slight kick which was perfect with the cheese and perfectly cooked crinkle cut fries. The onion rings were also cooked perfectly and while had more of a beer batter feel it was not overly thick and had a nice crunch.This was perfect for what we were looking for and we would definitely come again for both the food and the friendly staff!

Texas inn is like heaven on earth. Tiyona, Tara, Jess, and Juan are the best! Everyone is so sweet and amazing I wish I could’ve stayed all night. If you go you must ask for a bacon grilled cheese from Tara. Texas inn is a must for all jmu students. 10/5 stars!!

I understand that they have to be strict with their policies, especially with the hordes of drunk college kids downtown, but my friends and I were not drinking/being rowdy and were still met with some pretty rude service.Food was overpriced for the quality and I was disappointed when I received my check and saw a $1.50 charge for tap water that I didn't order.I am sure the experience might be different during the day or off season but I can't recommend this as a good late night spot.

Good cheap food and fast service. However, the staff is often extremely dismissive or downright disrespectful to patrons. I understand that food service can be a stressful and frustrating environment, but it is never acceptable to snap at guests who have done nothing wrong. This is a place that's open very late on weekends and is therefore frequented by (often drunk) 20-something students-- but that doesn't mean we are all going to be rude and messy. Treating us like we are an inconvenience the moment we walk in the door is off-putting and disappointing.

0/10 awful experience. Employee was extremely rude and unfriendly. I don’t recommend coming here. Food isn’t good either. I’ve never met such rude employees.
They kicked out a peaceful member of our party who wasn’t hungry for food. It’s a small place, and I’m sure the staff was just trying to uphold a rule intended to discourage the loitering of rowdy college kids or something. There was plenty of room at the time though, and the other four of us ordered food. Insanity! The food was on par with fast food chains—definitely fast and affordable and it hit the spot.

What an amazing place! Found this gem one night leaving a bar downtown and in need of a bite to eat. I had a cheesy western and chili cheese fries on my first trip. Now I’m addicted to the Bologna, egg and cheese . The staff is always great. They are friendly and go above and beyond.

This place caught my husband's eye one night when we were on a date downtown, so we decided to go in. The waiters and cooks were so nice, making conversation and providing a warm welcome to us. The food is always great, and it's definitely one of our go to's. No matter who's working when we go in, they're always friendly. Prices are super affordable as well
