My girlfriend and I stopped here for lunch while passing through Harrisonburg, and Wow !!! what a find! As someone coming from Bangkok, I can tell you these flavors are the real deal. We ordered a feast (4-5 different dishes), and every single one was amazingly good. The Mango Sticky Rice is a must-order! The service was very polite, the food came out quickly, and the prices were completely reasonable. If you see old reviews, ignore them; this place is fantastic and deserves the support. We left happy and full. Highly recommended!

Thai Cafe used to be one of the best Thai restaurants here in harrisonburg, but ever since the gentleman Owner stopped cooking the quality has gone downhill, and the food is inconsistent at best. I've had days where its good, and days(like today) when it was bad - but the bad are more often than the good
It seems like the quality of the actual products has decreased, the broths are waterier and saltier, the meat is fattier, but most importantly the attitude has changed - it seems like the people making and serving the food don't care as much as the Owner/previous chef used to - he was always smiling and happy, the food was great, and the atmosphere was pleasant. But since handing over the operations to his wife/kids it hasnt been the same. I ordered food today, and it wasn't good - salty curry, fatty pork, and undercooked potatoes. When I called to request a refund, the man who answered agreed, but then the Lady Chef(owner's wife?) called to yell at me. Incredibly unprofessional!
I hope he sees this, or someone shows it to him, because I worry that his beautiful restaurant is being ruined by lack of caring and attention.

My family and I have come to the Thai cafe for over a decade now. We live about an hour or so from it so we visit on our way to and from traveling, otherwise it would be a weekly/monthly staple for us. We love the curries, especially the yellow curry. Also the fresh spring rolls are a light but delicious starter for your meal. Service is friendly and attentive! -The only change I would suggest is that the aquarium needs some extra attention. The fish don’t have any coral or structures to play with/hide in. It is an empty tank and makes me feel bad for the little fish who must be bored to tears.
