The Maple Cafe

I stopped in today while shopping and the owner of the shop was just an absolute pleasure to speak with. I ordered a Rueben and I’m not going to lie it was the best Rueben I’ve had in years, 100% recommend stopping in here while you’re in the mall!

It is 10:15am on a Wednesday. It's still not open. This isn't the first time that I have seen it closed. Why?

Me, my Mother and her friend stopped here to get something to drink, since we never been here before we were not familiar with the menu, My Mother informed the two behind the counter that they were going to leave for a second to think about it, upon walking away the workers behind the counter proceeded to make rude comments about my Mom and her friend, we all left and will not be coming back ever.

This review is a bit late, but I wanted to ensure we left something positive for the owner. My wife and I were traveling to Lynchburg for a wedding last weekend and for a pit stop we wanted to grab some coffee. We browsed Google for local shops in the area we were passing and The Maple Cafe popped up.

We decided to give it a try, and we were pleasantly surprised. Before going further, this cafe is located in the Valley Mall, which at the time, we were unaware as Google Maps did not indicate that initially, so when we arrived we were a bit confused as to why it took us to a mall. The search results made it appear to be a standalone cafe; however, that's aside from the point of this review.

The woman behind the counter was warm and welcoming towards us. She explained to us how building your own sandwiches worked (aside from the plethora of sandwiches offered), offered samples, uses homemade sourdough, provides local teas/maple syrup, and more! It was pleasant throughout our entire visit to her cafe. The coffees my wife and I ordered were great as well as the sandwiches. The atmosphere of the cafe was relaxing and warm with lofi-style music playing softly (not too low or loud).

If we pass through this area again we would 100% stop here for another round of food and drinks. If you're driving through or around the area, give this place a try!

I’m not sure why this cafe isn’t advertised more! I’ve always walked past and seen a smiling face but no customers but definitely decided to check it out today and I’m sure glad I did! The staff person was very nice and welcoming and accommodating. Everything was yummy and fresh. The frappe I ordered was a sugar free hazelnut with half and half with whip cream and I will for sure be back it was fantastic perfect texture and nice bold rich flavor and not watered down which I seem to get from other places. I will support this little business for the quality of food and coffee but also for the hospitality!! Thankyou for a friendly place to have lunch today ☺️

The food is first rate but what sets this place apart is the welcoming staff! I was here with a group of individuals with disabilities and the staff member was very welcoming and friendly. Five stars in my opinion!

I always walked passed it but decided to give it a try and I was greeted by the warmest welcome that made my day) I stopped by for 5 min just to grab coffee but ended up in a deep conversation with the staff and I was surprised to learn on how much events they host in the cafe ) the coffee was great also btw) will definitely recommend checking it out ???

I hate that today was the first time coming across this place, because it was phenomenal! THE BEST frappe I’ve ever had! I didn’t catch the baristas name but she was so nice, and the place is squeaky clean. 12/10 recommend!
