It was cold outside so I ordered vegetable beef soup with grilled cheese sandwich. The soup had lots of ground beef in it and chunks of potatoes along with other vegetables. The grilled cheese sandwich was just how I make it at home. The bread was buttered prior to grilling. There was mayonnaise on the sandwich which blended well with the gooey, melted American cheese. It was a great warm me up meal that didn’t break the bank.

The Hillsville location has been a great place but the last year something has changed. When you acknowledge an error expect the cooks to throw a mini fit. And for heaven sake why use fake eggs? Even before the price increased they were using that garbage excuse for eggs. There are many better options like Lake View, Crooked Oak, County Line, Barn Cafe. Do better !!!

Was very disappointed in the sausage gravy and biscuit. Seemed like it was a mix that was poured over a stale biscuit

We had a horrible experience this morning. I understand they were busy and post hurricane chaos but these employees are just rude! Half of our order wasn’t given to us I stood at the place where you pick up treys for grape jelly for 10 minutes and was never acknowledged by an employee they were softly shouting the order numbers in a very over crowded restaurant so it was just mass confusion. The boy calling out the numbers would throw the treys down shout the number in gibberish and practically run away to avoid asking customers waiting at the pick up line what they need. By the time I got my jelly my food was cold. Not impressed

I guess I was expecting a more 'backwoods' type Aunt Bea. The place is very clean and the staff couldn't be better. Friendly, suggestive, good to go! It's the food....I ordered the pulled pork sandwich w/ coleslaw & the stew. Both were disappointing. The stew was very thin with nothing else but the meat and the pork was over-mixed, no chunks of pork to speak of or a good coleslaw to add. Made me think of a sandwich-made salad where all ingredients are mashed together. Would have been great to find the diamond in thr rough diner here as I traveled out of my way to get to it!

I've ordered a vegetable plate many times in 20 years, which comes with 3 vegetables. I got two vegetables and burnt toast from Aunt Bea's in Hillsville. I had to go through the drive-thru 2 more times, encountered the same person who would not hear me out, although I was very soft-spoken and nice to her. The first time the food was transferred to another container but was OBVIOUSLY the same food. The second time, it was slung out at me by the same hateful elderly woman with short brown hair and wearing glasses. She closed the window and wouldn't even listen to my request. What is happening to these people? Why are they allowed to be in customer service?
The sad thing is I heard her be rude to the person in front of me during my first return trip through the drive-thru. Unacceptable.

Just don't. Food Lion is nearby. For all that's holy, grab a microwave dinner and thaw it out it in the hot sun and eat it with your hand before venturing in this restaurant. I'd be shocked to find out that any of the hot food wasn't from a can. My starving teenagers refused to eat the bbq (it was terrible and looked like dog food), none of the vegetables had seasoning at all. The tea was good (the only bright spot). This was a restaurant where the soul food just had no soul.

Food wasn't that good, including the slow service. Very noisey dining room and dirty tables.
