I love getting there by boat and the live music is great. Unfortunately we have had three bad experiences with the food. It seems like snack bar food and not snack bar prices. Reuben was a joke

Had to wait 1 1/2 hours for food that was just ok. Nothing special. 4 people and the bill was $91 without tip.

It took over 1 hour to get our food. Orders 2 chicken wraps and each had around 2 oz of chicken. Not worth it.

Not the best outing at Mitchell’s (we’ve eaten here multiple times before: take-out and dine-in). Walked up and hostess sat us immediately; party of 4 (2 kids, 2 adults). Then we sat and waited, and waited, and waited; nobody came to the table. We watched other tables get sat around us and greeted by their servers. My wife went to host stand and asked if anyone was going to greet us. A few minutes later, our server came out and said, “sorry, the hostess didn’t tell me that they sat y’all.” Because we had been sitting for a while, we placed our complete order all at once. We got our drinks (3 waters, 1 soda) as expected. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. Our server came out and said, “sorry for the wait, the kitchen is really slammed.” Understandable, these things happen, but then we started noticing tables around us (who were sat after us, several long after) getting their food. We waited, and waited, and waited some more. One table (a 7 top), who was sat after us, ordered after us, got their meal, ate it, and got their check…still no food for us. I finally asked for the manager. When she arrived, I explained our situation. I got the same, “our kitchen has been really busy, I’ll check on your order.” A few minutes later, our food showed up. Only thing that was hot, was the kids chicken nuggets. Everyone’s FFs were cold, my pizza steak sandwich was cold and dried out (clearly been sitting on the counter a while), wife’s salad was fine (it’s supposed to be cold). That was it, no check-in from the manager, server just brought the bill. We had the pleasure of paying full price for poor service, forgotten order, and cold food. I never write reviews, not worth the time, but this was a pretty solid customer service fail on multiple fronts, so I made an exception.

Went twice during our vacation and had great meals both times! Good place to watch the sunset too.

All the good was good. Recommend the pizza, the Maccoroni salad, and Sweet tea is super. Coffee was good. Nice people.

Review is for early May 2025. In the past, their food was decent. It seems like they made some changes in 2025 and they are not good. We went with 4 adults and 2 small kids. The bill came to $115 with no alcohol and 4 of the 6 drinking water. The food quality is in no way worth the cost. Their fish and chips are now out of some sort of pressed fish, which had no taste to it at all, including the breading. The tartar sauce is just mayo with maybe 2 bits of relish. The BBQ had some sort of weird round fatty thing in it....I don't really know if it was fat as I picked it off before I started eating. It also had no taste and for the love of all things, try toasting a bun! They had no eggs, no mac n cheese and were pretty skimpy on the fries all around, which are very good. Although the fries and some other food is good, nothing came out particularly hot. I get the live music, but it is a tiny seating area so there is NO REASON for it to be so darn loud we cannot hear each other next to us yelling back and forth. You want to play live music for the whole campground, set them up elsewhere. If I ever show up and see live music being set up or playing, I'll hop right back in the boat and go somewhere else. This is the consensus from the vast majority of customers (I asked around and overheard others complaining as we left). The pros, the staff are very nice and attentive! The fries are good and the cole slaw was good...last time I had the slaw, it tasted rancid. Location is very nice and I like the seating area when there isn't live music. Do better with your food or reduce costs by 25% to make it in line with the quality served.

Food was very good. Service was even better, however the band was playing so loud that even when leaning in close to my wife (and the waitress as well) and literally yelling we could not hear each other. It might have been a little more acceptable if the band had been something more than just your average mediocre cover band. After several different people requested that they turn the volume down and the request went ignored, we were forced to get a to go box and finish or night out at home. If you want to be able to hear the waitress and converse with your significant other then I would strongly suggest you DO NOT go on a Friday night.

The old saying goes that- "If you build a better mouse trap, the world will beat a path to your door". The same maxim applies to Mitchell's Marina and Restaurant, if you go by how how many folk visit that facility by water. We have tried numerous times to visit, but always found that there was not enough dockage to tie up in order to visit the restaurant- hence the lack of review of the food, service, or atmosphere. Everyone seems happy as they visit, but not being able to dock is very frustrating to potential guests. Mitchell's enjoys a great reputation around the lake as a destination for boat fuel, boat rental, and its restaurant. Hopefully something can be done to accommodate boaters who want to visit.

Everything was awesome about this place EXCEPT for that fact that there’s absolutely no inside seating, only outside seats. There’s a whole band outside with you while you eat though!
