Was part of a larger party for the brunch menu- I ordered the eggs Benedict. The most bland eggs Benedict I’ve ever eaten- the “bread” I along with everyone else who ordered the eggs Benedict- could barely cut through. It was dry and hard. The potatoes, hard and cut the top of your mouth. Everyone wished there was some sort of seasoning or sauce anything to save this “meal” the tuna tartar was its saving grace.

We had a delightful ladies lunch after visiting the Southern Living Design House. The venue is gorgeous with really beautiful views. Our server, Ibeth, was fantastic. I had the Sunset Spritz cocktail which was delicious. Others had the ginger margarita, Ocean View and Cordial Mocktail. For food we ordered the cheeseburger, french toast, eggs benedict and radicchio salad - we all enjoyed our meals. Definitely worth a visit for great food in a beautiful setting.

We went for a celebration lunch, and the atmosphere was lovely! We had an excellent appetizer, and I ordered the highlighted main course, which was a bit disappointing (the lobster roll). To be fair, perhaps I should have selected something local and in season. However, those I dined with had a delicious salad, so perhaps that is the way to go. What was disappointing about our experience was the length and quality of service. The server was very polite and friendly, we just did not see very much of her. It took a very long time to place our order, and to receive our food. By the end of the meal (we had been there almost 2 hours- and did not even have dessert or coffee), I actually had to get up and ask the manager for our bill because I had to get my children from school. While a leisurely lunch is lovely, being forgotten is not. I have had many Michelin starred meals in Europe, where timed meals is a science. This was not this type of experience. Perhaps they were busier than anticipated or were understaffed. Yet, at this level of service, they should be able to handle that. Regardless, it doesn't feel good to be forgotten, which is why I would not recommend this restaurant, or return.

No one to greet us on arrival for our reservation. Hostess finally showed up 3 or 4 minutes later without a word of apology. Restaurant not crowded but we were seated directly next to a party of 4 who had the same server and had not ordered so we waited another 10 minutes to order a drink. Must say drinks were good and beautifully presented. Food: burrata, cold and hard overpowered with fig sauce. Beet salad, OK but paired with cucumbers. Not a good combo. Bass main course was two tiny filets in a bland lemon emulsion accompanied by three tasteless overcooked carrots. Molten lava cake dessert good. All in all not what one would expect in Jean George restaurant. Wonder when the last time he was here.

Terrible food, great views of the golf course. Not worth a trip out of the city. The $14 chicken breast on the $20 salad was so dry, it was inedible. We sent it back. My salad had wilted greens and zero dressing, had to ask for olive oil. There were four shrimp in sauce. They were delicious, but $25 for four shrimp plus wilted dressing less salad is ridiculous. The burger was dry. Seriously? for an upscale restaurant and prices they charge the food was really bad. Disappointed. Glad we didn’t go there for dinner.

We actually came upon this place by accident due to a gps error. The valet Trey hooked us up by checking to see if they had room. We didn’t have a reservation but they were able to seat our party. The environment feels like fine dining but the staff is so friendly and personable. After Amanda seated us and ran through the gluten free options, our server Victoria was so patient with our dietary restrictions. She was so nice, and knowledgeable about the preparation of the food, the ingredients, and the chef’s vision for each dish. The food was so delicious and the flavor profiles were so rich, but highlighted the freshness of the ingredients. The parsnip soup specifically was like nothing I’ve ever had before. I had the salmon, and my parents got the sea bass and lobster. They both said it was the best fish they’d ever tasted, and I agreed! It was my birthday, and I have type 1 diabetes, so I wasn’t going to do dessert. She knew exactly what to do, and brought out an espresso on a plate wishing me a happy birthday. It was so kind, and after the meal she hooked us up with some postage paper with marigold seeds pressed into it. It was such a nice signature after an insanely delicious meal.

We visited this place for our Anniversary mid January. We ate here for our Anniversary dinner, and were staying at Keswick. The food was delicious, and we ended up eating brunch here later in the week.

Beautiful place. Loved the outdoors as it's accentuated with flowers, vegetation and herbs! Had an amazing watermelon drink and the chocolate ice cream is a MUST!! Great service and atmosphere!

Beautiful restaurant and yummy food, our server Glinda was very nice. I appreciate the variety of vegan and gluten free options!
Great food! I wish the wait staff would introduce themselves when they first came to the table. It's nice to know peoples names!

Stunning setting. Enjoy the patio outside, or the incredibly designed dining room. This is the type of restaurant that makes me want to be an interior designer. The food and service are both top notch. Smaller menu, but each item I’ve purchased has been delectable. I think you get what you pay for and I will keep coming here.

Our experience here was quite disappointing. While the ambience is beautiful, our food was very underwhelming. $65 for 5 bites of flavorless lobster was a bit egregious to say the least. Pasta was nothing special either. And the complimentary bread was very cold and hard to eat. This food was honestly some of the worst we've had in Charlottesville. Furthermore, our waiter seemed nice, but was not attentive. When we asked to put in an appetizer, we were informed the kitchen likes to receive the full order at once, which is fine. But then when our server came over again and we asked to put in our order, we were told to wait a second and watched as they went to check up on several other guests instead. As someone who used to work in fine dining, I try to be understanding, especially on a busy Saturday night, but this was just a poor quality experience all around. We were excited to try a restaurant of seemingly such high caliber in Charlottesville, but would strongly implore you to take your money elsewhere instead.

Great ambiance, okay service, but the food is not at all what you would expect for the price. Wife had lobster - overcooked and covered in potato chips for some reason. I had salmon which I asked for medium rare and it was brought out well done and literally swimming in a bowl of corn chowder that was not very good. They did not even bring me a spoon to eat a dish served in a bowl. Appetizers were okay but extremely oily. I was sick all night from something I ate there and can only guess it was due to how heavily oily everything was

Went here for Mother’s Day brunch. The food was great; great atmosphere and beautiful views. However, my experience ended on a bad note. I accidentally left my camera on the table and someone from their staff stole it. Called two days later and “no one saw it”. We were the only people at the restaurant before closing. Will never go back…
The service was horrendous. They ran out of Bloody Mary mix and delivered a substitute mimosas made from concentrate OJ after our appetizer pizza was served. This was followed by a pathetic eggs Benedict without proper hollandaise sauce.
I would encourage you to try another place.
I have been a fan of Jean George for years. This is not one of his best efforts.
