Our grandson makes a point of going to fine restaurants - then ranking them. He only ranked Machodoc Creek Cafe #4 - but that was out of 136 which included multiple Michelin starred places, Ruth Chris, and tons of Chicago's best. He had the rockfish on a salad. On the other hand, if you find yourself in San Gimignano, he suggests Fattoria di Fugnano.
Blackened Rockfish tacos and a Turkey & Brie sandwich overlooking the water, nothing better! Lovely cafe on the water with great staff and food. Their menu has creative sandwiches and salads, not the typical stuff you find everywhere else, plus daily specials. Oh, the corn and crab chowder is a must have if you like crab soup - again, a nice variation from the typical cream of crab, which I do like too. We've gone here a fair number of times and the food has been delicious...
My new favorite lunch spot that's not close to home. We stopped in on a Sunday and were treated to Rockfish tacos, one of the specials that day. They were quite tasty! You could pick up on the layers of flavor. Someone in the kitchen has a creative palette!
