This jewel of a restaurant is nestled north of Orange, Virginia. We sat in the back with a glass of wine and were treated to an exceptional view of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the fall. The house itself is nineteenth century, decorated with tasteful understatement, and had two lovely fires going on a very cold evening. Our dinners--scallops and beef---were delicious and perfectly prepared and were the starters (butternuts squash bisque) and desserts (cheesecake and chocolate pot)....
We enjoyed our meal, as always, and will return again and again. The combination of excellent service, delicious food and beautiful historic setting make for a perfect dining experience. Truly an enjoyable and delicious experience. Again, we will return as often as we can.
Terrific chef making delicious dishes like duck confit and grilled sea scallops accompanied by well made local wines - a red blend of cabernet franc and petit Verdot, a Viognier that was crisp and lingering fruit. I will return.
