Hunan Deli Korean & Chinese Restaurant

I don't usually write reviews but I must say despite being a bit unassuming at first glance, this is one of the best meals I have had since moving to the DMV area almost a year ago. Absolutely delicious bulgogi and sides, and a good value at that. It's a bit of a drive for me but I need to go back!! Highly recommended.

Glad we came here for some Korean food, delicious, and the staff very friendly. Miss having some homemade Korean food. And they serve very large portions for the price, go hungry!

Wow, food here is authentic, Korean food for Koreans. I actually had reservations about coming because the name started with Hunan Deli and it seemed like their menu was too broad but everything we ordered was solid and authentic. We ordered dishes that are popular in Korea but we never get to see on most Korean restaurant menus in the US like Dongtae Tang and BudaeJjugae and they were both good. We also saw Chinese Korean dishes ordered by tables nearby and they looked great too. In general, it’s hard to find a good Korean restaurant that does good soups and stews (or anything besides AYCE BBQ) and this one is a solid hit.

I always passed this place on my way home and decided to see what it was about. I am glad to look it up, I did a pick up order and everything went well. I got the Chinese sweet and sour pork and a side of rice. I almost left when the front of house called me telling me I forgot the sauce. No other restaurant has ever done that. I also got sides of cabbage and cucumber kimchi.

The service was quick and very friendly. This restaurant made me remember my time in Korea. I will definitely be back.

Hunan Deli has three different types of food cuisine: Chinese, American Chinese, and Korean. Besides this unique quality, they have four different Korean squid dishes to try on their menu. I wanted to try a Korean squid dishes I had a long time ago yet I ordered the wrong one. I ordered Ojingeo Deopbap – 오징어 덮밥 , marinated squid with cabbage & rice instead of Ojingeo bokkeum (오징어 볶음) a spicy stir-fried squid dish. It was still very good to eat but not the dish I preferred more.

My takeout came with side dishes to sample also known as Banchan 반찬 and miso soup. I loved that they added these side dishes and the white rice with my entree was good.

Prices were fair. Service was friendly despite some difficulty in communication. The ambiance was simple and seemed like a takeout place more than a restaurant. I definitely want to try more entrees there in the future.

A hole in the wall. Not many tables. But this is simply the best Korean-Chinese food I've ever had in the states and possibly my life. If you're Korean you know that craving you get for 짜장, 탕수육, and 짬뽕. This place hits that craving like a pro Korean Olympic archer. Must visit if you're in the area. Not the mention the enormous portions.

This place is incredibly good!!!!!! I’m impressed.

Best Jamppong. Still a hidden gem. Fried dumplings are awesome. Gan Ja Jang is very good. pork BBQ is well done. Bulgogi over rice is top notch. Jamppong, I get it with pork and is just delicious.

Authentic Korean dishes at a reasonable price. Very nice staff, we enjoyed everything!

Phenomenal. I grew up near K-Town in LA and this brings me back. Generous portions. Perfectly spiced. You bet I’ll be back.
