To go order. Steak was good but very fatty for the price. No baked potato or mashed potatoes although offered on the menu. Was told it was only a dinner option. Settled for mac&cheese which had a very funky taste. Meal was decent but nothing to brag about and both steaks were not worth the $106 paid.

One of the best bloody Mary’s. We really loved the brunch one. Excellent Smashburger. Love the poutine…. Great beer list!…. Back in the day I used to get their tacos, but I didn’t see it on their menu this time. Honestly, their food never disappoints us. They also have outdoor seating.

Delicious food…serving plates you don’t find everywhere like Poutine…we weren’t in Quebec, but it was a close second. The burger was juicy and the Cesar salad provided the right amount of crisp and crunch! The atmosphere inside was just as nice as outside but had the extra enjoyment of live music. A duo band called Metz & Kline were playing. They were entertaining and talented, but didn’t take over your ability to talk at your table. The perfect evening of food, drinks and entertainment!

I've dropped in here for dinner irregularly for the last few years. I'm always impressed with the quality of the food and the graciousness of the staff!

Randomly passed by and stopped in for lunch on a long road trip back home from Maryland…and so very glad we did! Truffle fries, fig and brie flatbread, and strawberry cheesecake French toast…all so good!!! This was literally one of the best meals we’ve had in as far back as we can remember. We are so sad you are over 7 hours away from us, but we hope lacrosse or work takes us somewhere near you again. We will definitely be back!

Got the 14 OZ Ribeye. Steak was cooked med rare and came out great. You can taste the char and seasoning.

Sadly there are bartenders at 1836 who drink behind the bar and behave lecherously toward the female patrons. This is not only disrespectful toward the women, but also to the husbands and boyfriends of the women that come into the bar.

And Joe, FYI, as a customer I have EVERY right to give your bar ANY review that I deem appropriate. Especially concerning events that I am an EYE WITNESS to.

If you don’t like the review, fix the problem, rather than attacking the messenger.

1. Your bartender did NOT know the females in question. Despite what he told you, he had NEVER met them before that night.

2. Your bartender gave 2 free shots to the 2 female patrons, then pounded one himself along with them. Despite the lie that he told you, the girls absolutely did NOT “buy him a shot”. That is patently false. The girls didn’t buy a drink all night. The guy who was with them bought them all of their drinks. Except of course for the 2 that your bartender gave them for free.

I would strongly encourage you to fix the problem, rather than lashing out at the person giving the review.

Service is the reason for this review. For a taproom it sure is tough to get a beer. The booster seat the server gave us was junk, missing screws, pinched my kid. Had to swap it out myself. Our server was rude. Claimed we didn’t order what we ordered. Was reminded of our drink orders several times. When called on it she corrected it by scraping ingredients off with a spoon and handing it back. On a positive note a more experienced server took over and attempt to correct the issue. This place may be great with the right service or smaller parties but steer clear of parties of more than 4. I’m a local and I’ve given this place several chances. The food is typically good to great. The last few experiences have not been worth it at all. I won’t be coming back even if it’s the only show in town. I’d rather kill my dog in front of my child than spend anymore money there.
