Authentic and homemade delicious Mexican food. The salsa has a great kick. The locals love it, as testified by the whisky slogs at the nearby Virginia Distillery tasting room. A hidden treasure for sure.

Note: this was my husband's review. Senores, hola. A few weeks ago, my wife and I went to Cristina's Cafe. I tell you, la comida estaba deliciosa! Before the main dish, we had some chips and salsa. But hold on, wait a minute, this wasn't your usual restaurant types. These chips tasted homemade; they were crisp. Even the salsa was delicious. By the time our food arrived, we were salivating. We ate with much gusto and gratitude. La Senora, who took our order, and the lady who graciously brought our food, were on-point. No frills, no efforting, just good home cooking served with sabor, simplicity, and love. When I finished my 'menudo' dish, I felt nourished and fortified. I thought: why not go run a 5k. Alas, the 5k was not to be. I just went back to the car and relaxed. The convenient store, which house Cristina's Cafe, had some home cooked tamales and empanadas to go. Where else do you go to a convenient store and take delicious tamales with you. The prices are fair, and I recommend Cristina's. I look forward to going back soon. Who knew, right there in Lovingston, nestled within the Blue Ridge Mountains, is a delicious cafe called 'Cristina's. Don't drive too fast; you might just miss it. Adios!

Delicious food. Good quality. Located in the back of the gas station. Not at all obvious from the road.

This is as authentic as it gets. Some of the best Mexican food we've ever had, and my friend grew up in Texas... so he's hard to impress! The tortillas are so fresh and tasty and the chips taste homemade. We'd come back in a heartbeat!
