Bootleggers has, without a doubt, one of the best burgers in Lynchburg. The burger was incredible, the fries were on point, and while the price seemed a little high at first, it was absolutely worth every dollar. The atmosphere inside was lively and welcoming, and the staff was super helpful from start to finish. I grabbed my order to-go and enjoyed it on the patio overlooking the park and amphitheater — easily a 10/10 experience.

My wife and I went here on Valentine’s Day around 1 o’clock. I want to leave a good review about bootleggers but, the food just took incredibly too long. All the staff were very nice and even the food was good. I got a plain smash burger with only bacon and cheese, my wife got a caesar salad. Like I said we went around 1 o’clock and there were very few people there and it still took at least an hour for food to come out. I would like to give Bootleggers another try but, am hesitant because of the wait.

Wow, just wow. It started when Ethan came from the kitchen to confirm my burger temp to coordinate with my crispy fries! Who does that!!!! Crissy behind the bar was attentive and efficient, couldn't ask for more. Fantastic view, awesome service. Should be a requirement to visit here before you open a restaurant. Burger perfect, fries perfect, service... Spot on!

This was fun. It was a bit loud in the bar area with a basketball game going on. The timing of our appetizer and food was the same but due to the wait and it all coming out together, they comped it without us even saying anything, which was appreciated. The pretzel bites with horseradish mustard and beer cheese was delicious!!! You better like horseradish though. I got the Smashburger and my husband got the Smoking Gun, we both enjoyed. The onion rings I liked because they were bread battered and the coating didn't just break off when biting into it (these are extra though). The alcoholic milkshakes were good. We got the Bailey's Irish and Grasshopper and both were really good.

Been here twice, decent food. Nothing crazy. Very much the “burgers and whiskey place” of Lynchburg. (If you’ve been to Press Club in Farmville, it’s very similar) The first time my wife and I went with her family, the service was subpar to say the least, especially considering how few people were there. I had to go up and peel the waitress away from her phone to get refills of water. This past time my wife and I went, we really liked our waitress. Very kind and attentive in spite of how busy it was. I believe her name was Mina. She removed an item from our bill that we were not particularly fond of without us asking or suggesting that we wanted that.
The food is decent. Fries are ok. Not super flavorful, best paired with ranch. The kitchen forgot our sauces but again, our waitress was very kind and retrieved them within a couple minutes of us asking.
My wife got a build your own burger with bacon, cheese and bbq sauce. I got a buffalo chicken sandwich.
Atmosphere is nice.
Side note: no free refills on anything but water. Not a particularly bad thing as it’s something that other places do. Just a heads up.

I will always rate poorly for any restaurant that charges $15 for a burger with no fries.
