I usually go in there for their milkshakes they are very good. However the last time I went in, I had a breakfast sandwich, which was very very good. Better than I thought it would be. So I will be back again for breakfast.
Fantastic coffee, amazing sandwiches (poplar forest is my favorite) and if you leave without getting a Milton milkshake, you are truly missing out.
Been coming here for 20 years, never had something I didn't like. The Milton is second to none, I am convinced the Milton is the Paradise Lost. This place is cozy and always has fantastic service. The Drowsy Poet is a hidden gem of Lynchburg for sure.
A coffee shop inside a book store? Does life get any better? No! No, I don't think so!
Cute little coffee shop. It was fast and easy to order in drive through. My coffee had a adorable mustache on it to keep it from spilling out.
I love going to the Drowsy Poet! The sandwiches are incredible and they have the best hot chocolate. My favorite sandwich combo is the Poplar Forest with spicy bean dip. AMAZING! They also have great little nooks for reading and having a nice calm lunch.
My favorite place to meet friends and study. the cafe has such a lovely and relaxed environment as Drowsy Poet is inside Givens Bookstore. There is tons of seating all over, even when the cafe is busy it's never overly noisy or crowded due to the elbow room of the building. It's also totally permissible to buy coffee and wander around to browse books. What more could you ask for?The coffee, pastries, sandwiches and soups are always delicious. The staff are personable and sweet. So thankful for this gem.
Coffee was good, book prices seemed fair, but I was not really looking for anything specific.
o got the Application sandwich with fruit. Evrey thing was great! Lots of food for the cost of 6.75 I believe
Cozy little coffee shop nestled in the back of a kid's themed toy and bookstore called Givens Book and Little Dickens. I love looking for little, off-the-beaten path coffee shops. This one's a gem. They serve coffeefrom the Drowsey Poet Coffee Co. Delish! They also serve lunch fare, salads, healthy options, etc. Oh and did I mention Toys and Books. Love this place! Definitely recommend this place.

Love the Poplar Forest sandwich
A lovely place for a lught lunch with friends. The brownies are always good. Being surrounded by books doesnt hurt either. Has a great feel of the small town bookstore/cafe.
Sandwich was delicious; tomato soup is different.. not the traditional tomato soup!
Great food and coffee, love their Sonoma!
Great little place tucked away. Highly recommend the Milton shake and the soup if the day!
