Went to get coffee during regular business hours and they were closed. No sign or explanation. Just closed. Very frustrating because I drive from a ways away and needed the coffee for this weekend for an event for work.

This is an example of exactly the kind of business I love to support. The owner clearly is in this for his own enjoyment and passion and we get to reap the rewards! You will be very hard pressed to find better fresh beans in Virginia. My weekend trips to the farmers market wouldn't be complete with out a stop at the roaster.
To me one of the simple pleasures in life is a great cup of coffee to start the morning. So to sit here with an Italian Roast Sumatra Gayo Mandiri from Grains of Sense takes me back to Italy where I so remember the best coffee. I like the fact the owner Tom roasts all the coffee and they are free trade certified and responsibly grown. Very important to me. I highly recommend and at this point I would say support local, small businesses, but I would also recommend those perusing the website from near and far to not hesitate ordering!

This is where I buy my coffee. Best roaster in town with a variety of roasts and blends. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Coffee is phenomenal.
Best coffee in Lynchburg. Locally roasted; you can buy a steaming cup snd buy the beans to brew at home. The owner and staff welcome you with Southern hospitality.
