IHOP may be my favorite restaurant in Lynchburg. Breakfast food is my favorite and they do a great job on it

We enjoyed our meal here. The food is good. Not great, but it's what's to be expected of an Ihop. The service is fantastic. But it needs to be better maintained and cleaned and they need to have more servers on the floor during busy times. Poached eggs are harder to get right, and I won't get them again from an ihop. But again, can't have high expectations from this level of restaurant.

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!! I PROMISE IM SAVING YOU! I thought I was being crazy the whole time, til actually talking it over. Our drinks had some kind of weird odor to them. Idk what it was, either dirty cups or dirty ice machine. So CHECK YOUR CUPS! I tried ordering an egg white omelet, which the waiter claimed I couldn't order like that so I had to order the one that's only on the menu(which is fine, I just wanted a ham and cheese one but the tomato one was claimed to be the only one I could get🙄)...the omelet also had an odor to it. Like it smelt like it was old or just extremely old grease/grill. Hash browns I didnt eat, tasted like wet dirty carpet. My fruit bowl was ancient looking. As for my bfs food, he said it just tasted off. He also didnt eat his hash browns because they were horrible. Service wasnt horrible, but I wish I would have spoken up about the smells/tastes. The restaurant has gone downhill just within 1 year of us last being there. Very dirty eating area, so I can now only imagine what it looks like in the kitchen. Just DO NOT GO!

This morning my family and went to eat breakfast at IHOP. We placed our drinks and i ended up getting and apple juice since they ran out of orange juice, which was completely fine with me. The waiter brought out the drinks and I immediately noticed stains on the glass cup and something small white flowing in the drink, I nicely asked if i could get another cup,nor did I make a big deal about it.
The waiter brought out another Apple juce in a glass cup…. later after sipping from the straw I noticed PINK LIPSTICK STAIN on the glass cup. MIND YOU I was not wearing no type of lipstick NOR CHAPSTICK. I asked the waiter if i could talk to his manager and said “its nothing you did its not about you im sure it not your fault” he stated HE was the manager.
Later I ask an lady whos face I’m familiar with from seeing here work there for years, a short lady with bangs she was nice and I asked if our waiter was her manager she said no she said she would go get the manager.
A different lady came out and as I’m filling her in with the situation my mom noticed a LONG BLONDE HAIR in her hashbrow… the waiters face says it all.. the manager was more mad I grabbed her hand to take a picture of the hair than the whole situation 😭
This was over all so disappointing and disgusting. 😭😭

This IHOP is always crazy busy and understaffed. Despite that, the hardworking folks here always go above and beyond. We came in at one of the worst times, a Saturday mid morning rush, and besides that we were seated in leas than 3 minutes for a 2 too and had service within 5 minutes. Our guy was Justin, super friendly and managing multiple tables with minimal help. He was quick, friendly, and working hard. We had our meal in less than 20 minutes despite how crazy timings were. We saw him give each table time and patience despite how crazy and demanding each order was. Cool, calm, and collected, Justin kept a happy demeanor despite all adversity. We had a solid meal, excellent service thanks mostly to Justin, and more peace than expected in this lively environment. Whatever this IHOP is doing, keep doing so and please recognize the hardworking staff like Justin.

Food was good but when my group of friends all are 1st responders we all asked for our discount but the manager only gave one of us a discount actually it was no charge for the one of us. The rest of us were ignored and was charged full price.

Our server was great, the portions have shrunk significantly for a higher price. The food was cooked correctly and good.
The staff is always nice here but the restaurant is often dirty and dimly lit. The food is okay but nothing to write home about. I'd feel better eating in a cleaner restaurant. I've had delivery a few times but it's all just kinda subpar. These are pics of other options we've tried besides the breakfast menu, which we normally have.

Our customer service experience was utterly disappointing. We had to repeatedly ask the server for our silverware, only to have them forget each time. They even missed our order twice and were incredibly rude about it. We will definitely be avoiding this establishment in the future.
