Everything was delicious- have been there (Timberlake location) twice now and it was consistently good. This may be our new “go to” place in Lynchburg.

Strange place. All the parking out front is curbside pickup with one take out spot - parked in curbside (all spots open - no cars) took a work call and 2 servers from the restaurant came out to make sure I was coming in…they also asked if I wanted to order from my car. I’ve never had anyone approach my car while outside a restaurant that’s not fast food. Weird vibe. Made my way inside, had to explain street tacos to the cashier…picture from the menu and google. I just wanted 3 steak or “al pastor” tacos w/onions, cilantro, lime - that’s it. Note: this isn’t allowed for their lunch menu - lunch menu is only ground beef. Misleading. Charged me $12+. Their tacos are advertised as $3.5 each…so overcharged. Not a very honestly priced menu versus what they ring up - review your check. Tacos were ok, did not look great. I asked for corn tortillas..they gave me flour. Not street style - it’s even advertised on their menu this way. Clueless staff. Plus side: chips + salsa. Upon leaving - there were 5 servers hanging by the door talking - too many staff members. Awkward. Not a local, but I’m not sure I’d return.

I was quite impressed with the food, and La Chona playing twice in the span of 9 minutes made the experience twice as enjoyable, given the shared inside jokes our party had with the song.
My issue lies with my bathroom experience. I finished up my burrito, the delectable "Burrito Jimmy" with steak and chicken, smothered in tomatillo and cheese sauce, and headed for the bathroom.
I was greeted to a nice clean bathroom with one toilet stall and a urinal. I set myself up for business in the stall. Not even 15 seconds had passed when the door outside opened and 2 individuals entered.
One couldn't imagine the horror and sense of existential dread I felt when i watched as one of the individuals' shadow casted under the stall, and the shadow slowly lowered until I saw a pair of knees, and hands, as the individual got on all fours. A little white boy peeked under the stall and attempted to inform me he needed to use the bathroom. Me, trying my best to distance myself from a small child invading my very vulnerable personal space, start swatting and kicking at the child, but he persisted in checking on me, continuing his haunting chant, "I need to poop." I told him it seems like he's quite the predicament, but that he will be forced to wait for me to finish.
At this point, I was so wildly uncomfortable being in the same room as this unruly hell raiser, that i just pinched it off, put my hood up, and mentally prepared myself to avoid any contact of any kind. Be it eye contact or breathing in the same air, I was gonna have as little to do with this child as possible.
I opened the door and not only was the child, but also his older brother, who is a horrible chaperone by the way, blocking my path to the sink, so I didnt even get to wash my hands.
When I got home i took a scorching hot shower after a handful of bio-hazard decontamination sessions.
By the end of the whole ordeal, my roommate downing an $8 margarita in 7 seconds was definitely the highlight of the evening.

Went to the Simons Road location Saturday afternoon. We were seated in the bar area and were the only ones seated there at the time. After about 10 minutes several others were seated. None of the servers came to take our drink or our food order but everyone else got their drinks and started getting food and we were still waiting. Nobody ever came even when four of the other tables were served entree's. So we left and will never return.

La Carreta is a Tex-Mex place. Great service and great food for great price. I would use this place time to time when I crave Tex-Mex and they have not disappointed.
