I’ve tried the Smith Mountain Lake location twice. I’m sure their food is good, as people report this, but both of my experiences have been horrible. I waited for 10 minutes while the guy behind the counter worked on to go orders, asking me to wait. I finally left. My second try was an online order for an hour later pick up. While driving to pick up, I received a call saying they were out of everything I had ordered: meat and bagel. An $18 lunch is not worth their hassle.

I just moved down from NY, and figured I would give this a try! my only complaint....I should of gotten my own coffee, and it only needed a slight more schmear. The bagel was fantastic, flavorful, chewy on the inside & crunchy after toasting on the outside. I will definitely be back for more bagels & coffee the next time.

This is a treat for us every few weeks in the morning before school. The garlic bagels are our favorite!! Truly great bagels!!

This place use to be awesome when they first opened… But now you really have to be careful… I have had two orders made now so terrible its if they want me to come back and complain…. garlic in the cream cheese on a cinnamon crunch bagel… pesto aioli with clumps of mayo… seems like if the employees are having a bad day they take it out on you.

Each time I have been here the service has been poor. They get my order wrong literally every time and there is always some mishap. Today there was nobody taking drive thru orders and when I told them inside they just shrugged their shoulders. They lack basic customer service skills. I come because the bagels are fresh and tasty. The atmosphere is cozy in the back den. The coffee station is good too.

Amazing bagels, just as I would make, if I had that kind of time. The Bagel sandwiches are the perfect mix of fillers, without taking away from the star of the show, the Bagel.

Service is always friendly.

The atmosphere is nice, especially the back room. I could sit in there all day, perfectly content.

THIS IS A WARNING TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE GLUTEN ALLERGIES OR SENSITIVITIES. I went to Bagel and I for the first time today and ordered two gluten free everything bagels. My partner also got two everything bagels but not gluten free. We were very upset to find the bagels first in the same bag but ALSO NOT LABELED. So I took it back inside and one of the owners then had to find out which one is which. I then had it very rudely explained to me that when they say gluten free “they mean it in a lifestyle way,” his exact words. If this is true then YOU LEGALLY CANNOT CALL THESE GLUTEN FREE. It is illegal to label them that way. You must say they cater for gluten sensitivities but cannot promise gluten free. WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS A LEGAL ISSUE. And why when we paid $40 was that not explained to us when I told the cashier I had an allergy? Is my allergy not important enough to take issue with just so they can make a quick buck? I will never be going back and if you have allergies, you shouldn’t either.

It was ok. The food was not hot and the bagel was hard and chewy.

I will never go back! I payed $8.03 for three bagels nothing on them . Ridiculous price! The bagels were so hard it was a joke.If these guys came from the New York area no wonder they moved to the South because these bagels would be the worst in New York and they would not stay in business!

Worst bagel I've ever had. Bacon/egg & cheese- Burnt/old bacon. Not sliced all the way through. Not extra toasted. Tastes like fish . Cheese is like rubber. I think they microwaved it.
