Cozy atmosphere and great service.
One of our favorite spots in Lynchburg! The tea, food, service, and atmosphere are delightful! You won’t be disappointed.
Excellent and the owner is so knowledgeable and sweet. Loved my experience here for my birthday lunch :)
Also, the maple black tea tasted like pancakes! I loved it.
I had really high hopes coming here. Growing up, so went to Ploughcroft a lot and even worked there for a time so when I saw that a tea room was opening in its location I was so excited! Since I no longer live in Lynchburg, today was the first time I had been able to visit. The atmosphere and the tea itself though are the only things I enjoyed.
When I arrived, it was busy, but they were able to seat me and were very kind. About 10 minutes went by before anyone came to take my order, which is understandable since they were so busy. Unfortunately, I spent the next hour trying to get someone’s attention to ask where my tea was. I was looked at by both of the servers several times, but still no one came. There was a table behind me that had been sat, served, and left all before I got someone to come to my table. Finally, someone stopped by my table and mentioned that I ordered my tea an hour ago and still haven’t gotten it. While the server was nice about the mix up, she didn’t even remember she was the one that took my order an hour previously and never brought it out. Even if she didn’t know I ordered something, I would’ve at least thought she would’ve checked on me at least once considering she is the server who sat me. I then finally got my pot of tea.
About 20 minutes later, I wanted to order a dessert and was met with the same eye contact when trying to get a servers attention but still no one came over to me, so after 30 minutes of attempting to order something else I just decided to pay and leave.
Again, I understand they were busy, but for me to be there for 2 hours and a server to come only time to my table after I ordered is very frustrating and disappointing. I’m not sure I would ever come here again.
A quaint little gem of downtown Lynchburg! The moment you walk in the door, you are immersed in the atmosphere of this lovely place that is clearly a labor of love. The decor changes with the season. The tea is amazing and the food is delicious. The owner Cheryl and her staff are incredibly welcoming and make each guest feel special. It’s a wonderful place to visit with friends and family! Highly recommended and must be experienced to truly understand my raving review!
This place is a true gem! We walked in around lunch time on Saturday, without a reservation, and we were accommodated quickly. The service was impeccable, the tea was delightful, and the lunch was superb. I can’t wait to come back on my next trip to Lynchburg!
Very disappointed in maple leaf
Tuesday-Friday are now reservations only now.
So no more walk-ins.
Don't waist your time trying to get in.
Not woth the headache.
The owner should not.
Assume that customers are upset.
I Left , because their was no one to talk to.
Also it confuses customers when one day you can walk in and eat and the next time your informed that Tuesday-Friday are now by reservation only. So by leaving i was only trying to lessen the burden on the staff do to the restaurants chang up.
I love coming here with my friends. It's quaint and cozy. And everything has always been delicious. And the owner is so friendly she will make you feel right at home.
Such an adorable place, and a favorite spot to come in the fall and winter. The tea is amazing, the food is always good, and the vibes are amazing!
This tea shop has always been one of my favorite little spots — super cute, cozy, and full of charm. My friends and I have been coming here for a while. We worried about it coming under new ownership, but the atmosphere still feels welcoming, and it’s great to see the place continuing to grow. Excited to keep coming back! ☕💛

Where do I even begin???
I'm new to the area and saw this place on Reddit and was so excited to visit, so I made a reservation for one for Saturday at 2:15. Since I was dining alone, I requested that I not sit in the middle of the room. The woman who took the reservation assured me that she'd seat me along the edge.
When I arrived, I was immediately charmed by the decor! It was so quiet and quaint! The owner obviously put a great deal of time and thought into decorating the space.
They only just recently opened, I think, and they seemed to be short staffed. The one woman I saw upon entering (she was on the phone taking a reservation) was the only person answering calls, greeting patrons, taking orders and serving. That is until it was almost time for me to leave, when I saw a pleasant young man helping her.
Anyway, when the owner, Cheryl, was done taking the reservation, she seated me right away. At a window table!!! I had requested that when I called, but it didn't seem like it would happen. Awesome!
The place settings were absolutely divine! Everything on the menu looked tempting, but I chose the Windsor Tea service with darjeeling tea.
And OMGGGG 😋 Everything was so delicious and so beautifully presented! I gobbled up almost all of the finger sandwiches and sweet treats! 😂
Also, the tea was perfect! It came in a beautiful pot accompanied by a tiny pitcher of cream and a bowl of sugar cubes.
A note to weekend visitors: It was quiet when I arrived, but shortly thereafter the noise level was pretty high (see video). This place is popular! Every table was occupied when I left, and there were people coming in who weren't able to be seated.
When Cheryl took my payment, she suggested that I visit during the week. I mean, I'd love to, but I work every weekday, so...🤷🏽♀️ make reservations, people.
I will absolutely be visiting this establishment again.
Thank you Cheryl, for bringing such a wonderful experience to the town! I'm happy to spread the word about the good work you've done!
My friend, Debbie and I had the Victorian tea this afternoon. Our waitress was lovely and the tea, sandwiches, scones and sweet treats were delicious. Highly recommend!
I love this place! The service is great, the atmosphere is unique, the food is great, and the tea is even better! It’s always a fun experience!
