Water dog is such a cool spot. Stopped thru here on a trip, and will definitely be back. Friendly staff, great food and drink, location is great. Highly recommend

Was excited to eat here. Was recommended locally. Just disappointing. Food was kind of bland. Bread was stale. Soup was lukewarm. Service was not great, bill was screwed up badly. Table was annoyingly wobbly. I don’t know, maybe it was just an off time.

We saw reviews on this restaurant and decided to give it a try. Trying to get in was very confusing. They have an entrance facing the street, but you can't go in that way, you have to go around to the back where the train tracks are to get serviced. There's also an entrance on the side, but there was no one there and it was roped off so who knows what that was for.Around back, there were some cornhole games available and plenty of seating near the tracks. They have hanging lights to create a bit of an ambience, but again nothing over the top.Navigating the inside is a little tricky and somewhere overwhelming if you've never been here before. When you walk in on the back side, there's the hostess at the bottom of the steps. At the second level up a few steps, there's a bar area and seating. The atmosphere was okay. It wasn't too loud or too quiet. The crowd was mixed and appropriate for us as a family of four.Now the food. We ordered two different varieties of oysters which were just okay. One taste of water down and the other one didn't have enough fresh water taste for our preferences, but again that's just me. We also ordered some of the pretzel bites which were pretty good. Our son had the crab fries which were not good. I don't know what they do to the crab, but we wanted to send it back. The service told us that it's not just crab meat they actually take it and season it inform it before lightly grilling it and then placing it on the fries with some kind of sauce. I would definitely not order it or recommend it. I ordered a salmon salad in the salmon was cold. Nowhere on the menu didn't say they serve the same in cold with salad, but apparently they serve the salmon cold and the chicken cold. I was very disappointed in the reviews and maybe my expectations were just too hot but I wouldn't go here again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The service was good when she was at the table, but they were so busy that she was basically gone before we had a chance to tell her what we needed.Wheelchair accessibility: Nott wheelchair friendly or accessible from what I saw unless you eat outside.

Went there on Friday because of all the rave reviews including fish & chips, which we found out after we got there are no longer on the menu. The side salad was good and they have a nice draft beer menu.

Food was really good. My waitress was really really nice. BUT the hostess was not very accommodating and tried to be very difficult with us. We asked for seats inside but after 50 minute waiting, we got seated outside instead. Honestly, the hostess was just very rude to us. People who came in before us and after us got treated very differently.
Have ordered take out twice and dine in once thus far. Within walking distance of home. Hands down a wonderful innovative restaurant in a great location in downtown Lynchburg. The beer menu is on “tap” and eats are so delicious. The atmosphere is awesome and service was perfect.

Went in with a few friends last night the host said it’s self seating so we sit down and sit for 20 minutes and we get no service. It’s disappointing.Ya know what is sad that I’ve been here before and service is great. Waitresses looked at us and kept walking. Awful awful awful!
