We had booked a room at The Virginian Hotel for last, our first time, and saw that William & Henry was in the hotel so we booked it for convenience. Boy did we get lucky! This restaurant is beautifully decorated, the service is outstanding, and a really nice menu. I got the bone-in Ribeye and my wife got the crab cake - both were incredibly delicious and we WILL be back! We had a great bottle of wine too!

Made a reservation months in advance for a birthday. However was not able to sit in the lower dining room as requested.

Always excellent service and great quality food at this restaurant. My wife and I were there for her birthday and couldn't have been happier. 10/10

We had made a reservation for 4 at 7pm, our table was not ready at 7, we had to remain in the lobby for quite some time before it was available. We were asked if we were here for a special occasion after we were seated, we told the waiter it was for my daughter's birthday. I noticed other patrons come in and be seated after us, several tables, and received service and their meal items before us. We sat with empty glasses several times during the service. Service was lackluster at best. Items ordered were forgotten, no panko on my steak topper, had to ask for my date's steak topping, sirloin was tough as boot leather. Potato wedges were under cooked. The only saving grace was the filet and pumpkin cheesecake were good. I noticed other patrons had little birthday desserts brought out with candles for their tables, but my daughter never got to experience that, it seemed our table wasn't special enough for that perk. For the price there are much better experiences in Lynchburg, I will not be returning to William and Henry.

A very good meal in Lynchburg - probably the best we've experienced in the city. The food was excellent — the steaks, which were delicious and reasonably priced for a prime steakhouse. The sides, like the Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts, might have been the best part of the meal. I enjoyed the atmosphere and vibe of the place. We'll definitely eat there again. The only issue was that the staff was almost too attentive - it seemed like someone kept asking if we needed anything a bit too frequently. Three people checked if the steaks were at the right temperature. Distracting from our table's conversation — though it's really a minor issue.

We had the best, most romantic dinner. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere! Our waitress has always been amazing! The complimentary champagne was so nice and thoughtful! Dessert was top notch. We will definitely return for our next anniversary or date night!

We had four ribeye steaks all of them were cooked to perfection. My brother-in-law did a rare cooked Philadelphia steak. Excellent!!! Best steak in Lynchburg!

I was really excited to try this place for out for our 8 year wedding anniversary as it had many great reviews. Unfortunately, it was an awful experience from the beginning we walked in.

We were waiting in line at the host stand where it was unattended for several minutes. We had a reservation for 6:30 and were waiting for the host to return. There was another couple behind us and the host (or could’ve been the shift manager as he came by later on) finally comes by and completely ignores us and fist bumps the person behind us, who I guess he knew, and then proceeds to seat them without even acknowledging us in the first place. We then had to wait several minutes before we were seated and there was no apology or anything.

We then begin to sit down at our table and ordered our drinks and they had brought out my martini and not my husband’s beer. The waiter realized that I had received my drink but that the beer was not on the table. He went to check on it. We waited for about 10 more minutes before his beer arrived, which is confusing, I’m not sure how my martini got made and how it took that long out to pour his draft beer.

We then order our appetizers and the bread arrives. As we eat our appetizers, the waiter asked if we needed anything else and we said we would like some more bread. However, the bread was never refilled.

The entrees took about 40 minutes to come out. The bussers took our apps and didn’t even ask if we were done.

The food was tasteful, but at that point, our experience was already so subpar and we were so disappointed in the experience and the service, that we weren’t even hungry at that point. The service truly dampened the experience and our anniversary and made us want to get the hell out of there. They did offer us free dessert because they acknowledged that the food took so long, but we denied it because we were already just over the whole experience.

Take my word: save your money, because it’s expensive - but if you’re going to spend this type of money for a special occasion, spend it on a place with amazing service from start to finish instead of a place like this one.

Yesterday, my parents and I visited William and Henry for my parents’ anniversary celebration. This restaurant has consistently provided exceptional experiences for birthdays and anniversaries, and I had high expectations for this occasion. However, I must express my disappointment with the service we received.
Despite the restaurant’s busy schedule, I felt that our table was neglected and not adequately attended to. The overall service was subpar, and I was particularly dissatisfied with the waiter we were assigned. I believe that the luxury of this establishment should be reflected in the exceptional service it provides.
In my opinion, when patrons pay over $300 for a dining experience, they should expect nothing short of the best service.

My boyfriend and I came here for my birthday celebrations last night and it was absolutely delicious. The restaraunt was beautiful and the food was literally so good. You can tell they take their time prepping and making the food here. The steak was amazing the cauliflower au gratin was to die for and the pumpkin lobster bisque was chefs kiss! If I had one bad thing to say it would be that we got their special- seafood mac and cheese and it came out super dry. I will be fixing it up in my home kitchen and I'm sure it will be great. Our server was just the sweetest woman and we really enjoyed our time here. We will definitely be coming back with friends. Thank you to everyone working here. I had a great birthday. :)

William and Henry has become our favorite restaurant for celebrating milestones with family as well as a lovely spot for a romantic dinner. Service is impeccable. The chef does amazing things. The decor is lovely.
