Heading thru Madison Heights and decided to grab a BBQ sandwich and hushpuppies. It had been many years since my last stop at The Silver Pig and the bbq was just as good as I remembered. Hushpuppies were exactly the same with honey to dip them in. Great tasting lunch!! Plenty of parking right in front. The building is not the prettiest. Well worn but you should give it a try if in the area.

I think people live there . The place is a mess . However my sandwich was good and the best fries I have ever had . Has the feel of the restaurants in department stores back in the day . A once famous icon does deserve a once over .

Jim has the best BBQ and he is happy to give indecisive guests, like me, a good recommendation! Great atmosphere to catch a conversation with friends. I visited last Friday and enjoyed hearing the guys next to me talk about tractors ... a good education! Old school and comfortable, and, best of all, consistently great food. His BBQ is great to serve a crowd, too!

The owner is a jerk. I went in and placed an order and went to pay with my credit card. In front of the entire place he asked “ don’t you have any money?” He said he prefers cash. When I get all the way home in Forest with my food, half of it is missing. I call and started to explain and he yelled over me “we close at 3” and then proceeded to hang up in my face. I will never go back. Guess what Mr. Personality~ I prefer to get my food when I pay for it. PS The Brunswick stew is nasty!!
The guy refuses to give us bbq sauce sandwich would have been ok but with no sauce it was bland hushpuppies were ok with honey bur wont ever be returning jeds bbq up the road from silver pig is much
