Bavarian Chef Reviews
Probably one of the worst meals I've ever had.
My girlfriend ordered the shrimp scampi. The shrimp were like eating rubber. Exceptionally overcooked. The creamed corn had so much sugar in it you couldn't finish it. The potato dumplings were stone cold, that's when we found out they cook by microwave.

The Bavarian Chef is a gem in Madison County! Very good food, atmosphere and service. Loved it!
My husband and I have been dining at the Bavarian Chef for nearly 25 years and have never been disappointed! Food and service are both SUPERB! I say this as a picky eater…and we drive nearly three hours to get there at least a couple times every year!

The Bavarian Chef restaurant offers a cozy and authentic German dining experience. The menu features hearty German dishes, including the popular Jägerschnitzel and sausage platter. The atmosphere is charming, with wood-paneled walls and Bavarian decor. The service is outstanding, with attentive servers ensuring that guests enjoy their meals. The portions are large, and it's recommended to save room for dessert. Customers praise the wonderful food, great service, and friendly atmosphere. The giant pretzel with beer cheese and the sausage sampler are particularly popular menu items. Guests have noted the trout as lovely and delicate, topped with savory almonds, and have enjoyed sides like creamed corn, green beans, and zucchini. Desserts, especially the German Chocolate cake, are described as absolutely amazing, and many customers are glad they stopped by, often making the drive despite the distance. The restaurant remains a long-time favorite for those seeking genuine German cuisine and a pleasant dining experience.
