The building seems very authentic, but they really overbooked for Thanksgiving Day. Wonderful waiter, good beer. Actually we ordered German food rather than the $49 Turkey feast. The scheitzel portions were huge and very fried with little meat inside. However, the family-style vegetables were excellent from red cabbage, to snow peas, to German potato salad, to corn, to green beans. I would have loved just a vegetable plate, but that was not an option. Dark bread was tasty, but filled you up! Value was decent. Wait time was too long even with the reservation we had made for 6 of us.
I had recently been to the Bavarian for the first time the day after thanksgiving I had reservations made for two me and my wife I wanted to surprise her & I wanted to try the food because I had previously made a stop on thanksgiving to get seats for two but that was impossible the place was fully booked so I made reservations on my day of arriving to my appointment we were greeted by the most beautiful professional very nice waitress afterwards we began to o order we were recommended what was supposed to be the best highly recommended dish so we both agreed with the recommendations when our food arrived we were completely shocked we were both over served our plates must’ve weighed 10 pounds each our food had no flavorful aroma it tasted bland old our vegetables drowned in vinegar I’ve tasted better food at a homeless shelter drive where I’ve participated serving food to the homeless I’m extremely saddened our first experience with the restaurant started and ended on a sad note would I recommend this place maybe not something needs to happen with the kitchen chef either training or replacement instead of recommending I would warn anyone before stepping a foot into the Bavarian.
I lived in Germany for 9 years total. This is the closest to authentic German food I've tasted in the US.

We ate at the Bavarian Chef tonight after spending the day in Skyline Drive. The food and service were both excellent. We will certainly go back despite the hour long drive to get there. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great service! We had the trout…it was lovely and delicate with a savory almond topping. The creamed corn, green beans, and zucchini were all very tasty! Get the German Chocolate cake! Glad we stopped! I’ll stop again if only for the cake!

Great food and huge portions. 1st time ever eating there, but it was very tasty. Definitely more pricey, but you are getting what you pay for. Great German atmosphere and great presentation for each entrée. Desserts are absolutely amazing as well, but be prepared to take food home.
