Our chef’s table dinner was Michelin Star worthy!!! The food was INCREDIBLE. The wine SPECTACULAR. The ambiance PERFECT. And the team WARM and AMAZING. I would choose this place over the Inn at Little Washington every time. Thank you to Chef Tim, Ian, Eddie and Mel for a truly memorable and special birthday!!!!

Drove an hour and arrived an hour before closing, but we were told they closed early for an event. No notice online - very disappointing.

Just a heads-up: they close at 4:30 PM on weekends. If you’re traveling from a distance, you may want to double-check the hours before making the long trip.

Excellent wine and meal, friendly service and definitely would recommend. Bison and cheeseboard was delicious

food was divine. service was great. wines were good but not life-changing. prices are about 25% more than they oughta be, but you're paying for vibes.

all in all, a wonderful lunch amid gorgeous fall scenery that definitely stung at $250 for 2. wish they were open later because that price is easier to swallow for a dinner date.

During our first trip to the Virginia wine region, and we were pleasantly surprised. Early Mountain was the clear winner in our book.

I recommend the Elevated tasting. The specialized chef bites to accompany the wines were very unique and paired nicely with the excellent wines.

We will be back!

We aren't sure what we expected, but from the moment we walked in, we were absolutely in awe of Early Mountain Vineyards.

We reserved a table outside for lunch on our way home from a long weekend trip, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The setting truly lives up to its self-description: a pristine property nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The tasting flights of wine were perfect—we found the selection to be earthy and bold, a wonderful expression of Virginia wine. The food was phenomenal as well; we ordered several small plates which were perfect for sharing among our group.

Highly recommend this as a truly beautiful, relaxing, and memorable stop!

We love Early Mountain Vineyard! It is one of the most luxurious vineyards that we have been to, and the food is upscale and delicious. We have a specific love for their white wines. What sells it for us is allowing dogs on their patio, as we hate to leave our 4-legged friend behind!

Upscale winery experience. Their indoor and outdoor are immaculate, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and made excellent recommendations. Their menu was absolutely delicious and paired well with the wines. We came with our dog too and they were so kind and always checked in to make sure there was enough water for her too. I would recommend this winery to anyone visiting the area!

We recently visited Early Mountain Winery to celebrate my birthday, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish.

The food was fantastic—beautifully prepared and flavorful. I started with the pan-seared rockfish minestrone, which was incredibly good. I have some sensitivities to certain seasonings and noticed a slight throat itch, so just to be safe, our amazing waitress graciously offered to bring me a different dish. I tried the roasted gold bar squash, and honestly, it blew me away. I’ve never had squash prepared that way—tender, perfectly seasoned, with just the right touch of Parmesan Reggiano. We also shared the marinated olives and cheese, and everything was fresh and well balanced.

The wine flight we tried included the Madison County Chardonnay 2022, Petit Manseng 2022, Capstone Cabernet Franc 2021, and Eluvium 2021. Each wine had something special to offer depending on your taste. I typically lean toward dry reds, but my husband and I both really loved the Petit Manseng—it had the perfect balance of flavor, texture, and acidity. We ended up getting a bottle and took the rest home to enjoy with Sunday lunch—it was just as delicious chilled the next day.

The service and hospitality were top-notch. Every staff member was warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming—even just walking past, everyone greeted us. That attention to guests really sets the tone and shows how much they care about the experience.

The views are absolutely stunning, and next time we plan to sit outside to soak them in even more. The ambiance was perfect for a special occasion or a relaxing date day—we even brought along a couples game to enjoy while we sipped and took in the atmosphere.

Kudos to the staff, the chef, the winemakers, and management for creating such a beautiful, thoughtful experience. We’ll definitely be back soon!

My wife myself went down there today for the first time. We get seated within two minutes which I impress..
But it took over 15 minutes for our server to come over a table with her name was SARA. To ask what we wanted.
I told her I wanna do a flight of red and some bread.
Then it took another 20 minutes to bring things over to our place
Or Waitresses constantly talking to everyone else and not conversation with us.
When our waitress finally came over to take a order,
It took almost 45 minutes before we saved our food.
My wife order The pasta dinner and I ordered rockfish.
Her dinner was basically a Corva cup of food, which she think was very good but a joke.
My rockfish was basically fish in a bowl with Missy Soup..
Very disappointed in the proportions in the price I pay for everything.
Dinner took another 20 minutes to ask for the bill.
Far as I guess, I will never go back to again.
And the price is for bottle of wine is ridiculous..
I am not recommending anyone to go there.

Amazing lunch at the restaurant! We came for the wine tasting and were blown away by the delectable food (quite reasonably priced in our opinion). Every dish we tasted had an interesting and well-balanced combination of ingredients and flavors. My absolute favorite was the strawberry gazpacho which was beautifully presented (photo attached) and had a delicious mix of different textures (softness of the strawberry puree/buttermilk vs. crunchiness of the radish/cucumber). Also a special mention for the cheese plate - great to see them showcasing products from Virginia, and all three cheeses were delightful in their own way.

Other than the food, the restaurant itself is lovely and provides different seating options - airy and impeccably furnished inside, with a more casual atmosphere on the patio. We chose the latter as it has a view of the vineyards and had a very pleasant time. My only minor comment is that the service could be a little more refined for a place delivering such high quality food. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Early Mountain and highly recommend!
