We stopped on our way to Charlottesville. It just was not good. And extremely expensive for the quality and amount of food. Chicken tenders were frozen, which is odd because they sell hand breaded bone-in chicken. The burgers were small and just nothing special. The fries are the same as the old Burger King ones- gross! The workers are not friendly at all. We won’t return.

Stopped here for lunch. It’s fast food. Atmosphere is retro old school diner style. Tables, chairs, stool and countertop seating. Stools are chrome diner style and countertop reaches around perimeter of dining area. Windows are large and offer a good view of the outside. People that work here are friendly and attentive. Quick to take my order. Expect to eat here and spend time looking out at the Seminole Trail as vehicles drive-by. Restaurant is clean and looks maintained. I got a Big Tee Burger meal. That’s a Big Tee burger, 16 ounce fries in a cup and 20 ounce drink. The Big Tee is 2 burgers with 3 buns. It’s Cheese, ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions, lettuce, thousand island dressing. I got mine with no cheese. Bun is sesame seed. Sandwich was ok but I really didn’t taste the thousand island dressing. At one time time I did peel away the roll to see if the dressing was on there. It was there, but not a lot. The middle role got somewhat mushy while I was eating the sandwich. Too much grease maybe from the burgers. Fries were good. I always enjoy fries in a cup. I just think it was too expensive for what I got. $16.10 for this. Too much. Will drive past this place the next time.

A classic burger and ice cream spot with a nostalgic vibe. I dropped by after a hike, needing to recharge, and it brought back memories of similar joints from home. Their menu is extensive, and I went with a double cheeseburger combo. Everything was freshly made to order. The food was solid—not extraordinary, but satisfying. I didn’t get a chance to try the ice cream this time, but it’s on my list for next visit.

We have been having breakfast at Tastee Freeze (now The Freeze) once a week for 30 years and loving every minute of it! This family-owned business was a staple in Madison long before we found it and they have probably seen many generations of Madisonians come to their table.
When my husband drives his truck up, Christie or Carrie (whoever is cooking that day) fills a coffee cup for him and has it ready when he walks in the door. Then he orders his "usual" (eggs, bacon - the best bacon ever - and a large, fluffy pancake), which is already being cooked for him as he is paying Hannah, who brings it to his table when its ready.
I often go with him, and we are always sweetly greeted by Rosalie, who has been there for 21 years. Imagine this kind of relationship and how wonderful it is!
The food is dependably delicious and the company is delightful. It's the kind of place where - if you're a regular - you can go behind the counter and pour yourself another cup of coffee. They know us - we know them - and when we go there, we are Home!

We are in the area for a few months. So we have heard a lot of good things about this place and had to try it out today with a to go order.

Service was great, atmosphere is nostalgic like an old diner back in the day. However, food was not that great so I’m leaving 4 stars because things do happen from time to time. Ordered two Big Country Burgers 1 w/cheese, mustard, lettuce, pickles (this one came with onions that husband will not eat and the other w/cheese, mayo, lettuce, pickle & onion (this one no onion). We can’t swap because he doesn’t like mayo so that wasn’t an option. In addition I asked for both burgers to be cooked well done and I was told everything is cooked well done; as you can see from the photos this wasn’t well done.

We will give it a try one more time at a later date.

Nice little place to get a meal and some ice cream if you ever pass by.

Given by here hundreds of times and finally stopped in for lunch. I've been missing out! I had the T-Burger combo, and it was excellent. Well seasoned Burger, a generous amount of fries, and a Pepsi. The staff was friendly and fast. I love the old fashion diner look and the extensive menu, especially for breakfast. I'll be back!

Best burger in 60 miles. Service and atmosphere is good, but the burger are fantastic. The fried chicken is better than any of the fast food chains, but the burger are fantastic.
