Absolutely abysmal. Low end basic quality food for extravagant prices. Grocery store cheese, mushy peppers, bare minimum of unseasoned meat for 15-25 dollars? Drinks for $4? The buffet might be good but I won’t be back to find out. Don’t bother.

Food is great until the dust flies into it. I would love this place if they cleaned once a month.

I recently chose Cactus Grill to celebrate my son’s middle school graduation, and unfortunately, it was a deeply disappointing experience.
The food was underwhelming and overpriced, but the real issue was the way we were treated by the manager. After I ordered a drink, I took a silly photo of my son pretending to take a sip to share with his sister, not drinking. Shortly after, the manager approached and refused to serve me another drink, implying I had given alcohol to my child. Not only was this baseless and humiliating, but she repeatedly came by our table in a way that made us feel watched and judged. It completely ruined the mood of our celebration, and I was left feeling disrespected and appalled.
I reached out to the restaurant afterward, and while the owner did issue a sincere apology and acknowledged the situation should have been handled with more discretion, the only offer made was a $25 coupon, after I spent over $100 on a night that left us upset.
I appreciate the apology, but a token coupon doesn’t erase what happened. This experience showed a serious lack of professionalism and ruined a meaningful occasion for our family. I won’t be returning and I’d caution others who are considering this place for a special night out.

We actually went for the pork belly but they were either out or they don't fix it anymore?

We were on our way home from Falls Church back to the Shenandoah valley when we stumbled upon this place. My kids love Mexican food & I didn't want fast food. Both of my kids are autistic, the waitress noticed my daughter going into sensory overload because the music was loud & she turned it down. Staff was really great. This was the best, most authentic Mexican food I've eaten in years. This was a great find on our way home. Highly recommend to check it out! Oh ya, the salsa & chips they brought out to snack on was absolutely delicious, the salsa wasn't spicy but extremely flavorful, made with tomatillo tomatoes. Like I said, check them out ;)

I tried contacting the owner(s) before leaving this review. I grew up and live less than half a mile and have been coming to this place since day 1.... Our experience was in April and I still feel strong enough about it to post it now. Disgusted and disappointed with our experience. There wasn't any communication issue, we are bilingual... My partner and I were offered queso when we ordered guacamole; which we politely declined, and informed our server we are both lactose intolerant and do not eat dairy. Our initial tacos that we ordered after the guacamole appetizer were spectacular as always... However when we ordered round two; for some reason, we were served tacos with cheese... Our server came back with new tacos that were undercooked meat by itself with nothing else layed onto flour tortillas. After receiving the undercooked meat tacos our server as well as the rest of the staff blatantly ignored us.. We had to get the cooks attention just to get our check... When I questioned why we were being charged for something inedible, our server became indignant. We decided it wasn't worth causing a scene and should not have just paid for it. Sorry to leave you guys a bad review; but it was earned.

Medalith was an attentive and courteous waitress, her customer skills and charisma was exceptional. Definitely a great service and even better food 🔥
This place is a vibe.
I walked in planning to order a simple meal, but then I noticed they had a buffet. Naturally, being a bit frugal, I decided to check it out. After seeing the options, I went for it. The buffet was $24.99 on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
The hostess—who I honestly thought was a child at first—seated me and handed me a knife, fork, and some paper towels. Shortly after, the owner came by and kindly explained the dishes, as they were labeled in Spanish. I grabbed my first plate, sat down, and dug in. The food was good—just a heads-up that some of the meats have bones in them.
After finishing my second plate, the hostess came over and tried to take my utensils, which made me realize this might not be an all-you-can-eat situation. It seemed more like a two-plate limit. I let her know I was planning on getting more. I went back up, and the manager approached me again, continuing to offer information. It felt a bit intrusive at that point, but I appreciated the effort and carried on.
I grabbed some tacos (they're generous with the meat). After that second plate, I was stuffed—like really full. I paid my bill and left feeling satisfied. The food was great, but if you're someone who gets self-conscious about being watched or possibly discouraged from getting more food, it might not be the best fit. I didn’t go beyond two plates, and honestly, I’m not sure how well that would’ve gone over if I had tried—haha.
I was also told they have taco buffets on certain days, so I might check that out in the future.
Great food. Thanks again.
