My family and I really enjoyed eating at Eddie's Kitchen. We got the wings and empanadas. The wings and empanadas were cooked to a crisp perfection and went great with the special sauce.

I ordered 2 trays of beef empanadas for a party. They were ready when I arrived, and piping hot! They came with a spicy, flavorful sauce. They were the first thing to disappear at the party! I should have ordered more! The meat was well seasoned and moist. The shell was crispy-crunch, even 2 hours later. Definitely needs to be a regular order, for my family.

This is a food truck, but it doesn't travel. The food is good and the service is fast. Chef Eddie is friendly and he puts a lot of effort into accommodating his customers and their needs. The truck is located in a quiet area easy to get to and park.

Chef Eddie knows exactly how to bring that Boricua flavor to a much needed Manassas. The empanadas are great, the tostones are bomb, and the pinchos are money. Dont forget to ask for that New York rican sauce, its the cure.

This food truck (a reincarnation of the excellent El Hangueo food truck), based out of Manassas, is a bit out of the way for us (we live in Burke), but we decided to visit it. Today's visit was actually our second under the new administration, since we attended their soft opening a while back. The truck was now parked at the end of a dead-end street in Manassas, next to a community pool. Initially we thought the location was weird and out of the way, hidden; but then we realized it offers a lot of parking space, nice "woodsy" surrroundings, and an area with about 6 picnic tables for customers to spread. I had the white rice with red beans, "carne frita" and tostones; my wife rice with pigeon peas, "carne frita" and empanadas. I also added additional side orders of tostones, empanadas, and three sodas. At the end, we ordered two coconut "limbers". All together our order was $38. Both our plates were ready within 5 minutes of us ordering. The tostones hot and crispy. My rice with red beans was really good, so much so that I rejected my wife's offer to try hers (lest she decided she was entitled to have some of mine in retun!). The "carne frita" was well seasoned and tender; I would had prefered 2 or three more pieces, but that is probably me being gluttony (and I ended up eating my wife's left over pieces, so, all good!). Both our plates came with a surprisinly deliscious spicy take on the traditional "mayoketchup" dipping sauce. My wife commented that she felt like she was in Guavate! The owner, Eddie, spent quite some time talking to us about his backstory and his plans for the future. It was a good talk. Over all, the food was great, served hot, fresh and promptly. Some might complain that the prices were on the high end for a food truck (for us, about $20 per person), but this was great Puerto Rican food, so for us it was well worth what we paid. We will be back... with friends. :-)

Great food truck, hidden in a little neighborhood. I contacted Eddie on Facebook, and placed an order for 24 beef empanadas. He was fast to reply, and the order was ready at pickup time. They were piping hot! They came with some homemade spicy sauce. The quality of the empanadas was exactly what I was craving. The beef filling was well seasoned, the exterior super crunchy. Definitely will be starting a regular order with Chef Eddie.

Highly disappointed. I've been trying to find a Puerto Rican spot since moving from PA and thought this would've been it. I worked near by here and read the reviews and haven't found a Puerto Rican restaurant anywhere so, I decided to try. I ordered rice n gandules, with a chuleta. I also ordered pernil, and habichuelas. Both meals with an empanada. The chuleta was so burnt and dry, I could hardly chew, it was pretty much jerky. My gandules had a lot of the burnt, crunchy rice and it didn't have the flavor I was expecting it to have. The empanada was very skimp on meat like it was made for a sample. I grew up on these kinds of food being Puerto Rican myself and expected so much more in flavor, but the only thing half decent thing was the pernil. I wish I had some of the crunchy skin, but the flavor for it was half there. For $26 it was a bit on the pricey side, back home in PA, I would've been able to get a larger plate for less. I do hope my next visit is better.
