Food was very good and server made sure what kind of fufu we wanted as we had seen on a video online. He checked in to see how we liked it and was very nice. He also gave us solo cups for a drink that we had purchased from the vending machine at the front.

The food was very tasty but ordered some goat a jollof and when I open the box it was only 3 small pieces of goat I think yall should serve better portions for the price don’t be stingy with the meat trying make a million bucks by stretching it

My friend and I went here for lunch and it was our first time here, we honestly couldn’t stop talking about how good it was!!! Ralph is super kind and helpful as well by telling us what paired best with which. I got the Okra Stew with Eba and my friend got the Spinach Stew with fufu and a 10/10 from the both of us! We enjoyed how much of a great first experience this was for the both of us and how kind the staff were. The portions are also very decent sized as well for the price and quality of food it’s so worth it. I posted a picture on my social media and recommended it to everyone who asked about it! My friend and I can’t wait to come back and try their other options, thank you Lapaz!!!!

Delivery and prep time took....a loooong time.. but the resulting food was amazing! It was our first time trying Ghana based cuisine, and we walked away satiated and absolutely impressed by the flavors and experience. Of now was the goat, beef, spinach, and peanut soup. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a new cuisine.

This place is absolutely AMAZING. Was nervous about trying a new spot , I don’t play about my African food , but when I say this place was on point !!! Everything was cooked fresh , I got the spinach stew and fufu with beef . I ate too fast to get a good pic loll . The beef was crispy , yet juicy and tender ! I sat down and although it is a small spot , I was very comfortable. If you’re thinking about coming here , don’t walk … RUN

Lapaz delivered an authentic and absolutely delicious West African/Ghanaian meal. Every dish showcased the rich flavors of Ghanaian cuisine, making for a truly satisfying dining experience. The food was perfectly spiced and very savory. We also appreciated the fantastic and excellent service provided by Ralph and hats off to the chef(s). It was truly amazing food and service! We will most definitely return!

Idk who’s leaving these fraudulent reviews! The food is mid, at best. The service was piss poor. The time to wait for this food will make you reconsider choosing to dine here. Don’t waist your time or money. The food tasted like a Caucas attempt to cook!

Following up on my last review—(edit after they responded)

This was the worst food and service I’ve experienced in the DMV. I paid for everything except the peanut soup, which was so bad it nearly made me gag. When I asked him to remove it he initially said no cause I ordered it and i told him to remove it at which his cocked eyes became straight.
My total was $43. If I truly did something wrong, why not call the police instead of simply banning me? Either way, I have no interest in returning, and honestly, no one else should either.

I recommend attempting to cook it yourself

I had my first experience with African food here and I am sorry I waited so long. I don't have any other experiences to compare it to, but the food here tasted great. The owner was very kind and friendly and seemed to pick up on our lack of experience. He took the time to explain to us how to eat the Waakye and the Fufu and explained what the different item were on our plate. The owners were so friendly that it felt like we were guests in someone's home!

The Waakye was a little bland (as the owner said it would be) but tasted exceptional when mixed with the stew as he explained. The accompanying black pepper sauce had a good kick and the fried chicken had the perfect crispiness to meat ratio for my taste. The Fufu was fresh and sticky so we used the provided a bowl of water to rinse our fingers. The peanut butter soup was very good as well with a good mix of spices and flavor.

The fried plantains came out extremely hot and delicious!

My only regret is not trying this place sooner!

Left without buying food.
