My pregnancy cravings for oxtail led me here and I’m glad it did. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I thought the portions were really good too, especially for the price. I had oxtail, rice and peas, baked Mac and cheese, cabbage and a side of plantains + a ginger beer for $28. 10/10

Food is good for the area. However, the chef (tall skinny guy, maybe Malakhi himself) will make no accommodations for the customer. He has rules regarding customers , and he will not serve your food in separate containers just because it's his rules. I normally visit with at least four friends, and I now feel very unappreciated and will not visit this restaurant again. Good ridden. The waitresses, Trina, Barrie and Christie are awesome.

The best Jamaican food, that is local, hands down. The food is clearly cooked with love. The portions are huge and extremely flavorful. Recommend ordering ahead for pickup as they run out of patties.

I went in and order curry chicken and rice with a side of Mac and cheese and they put everything in the same box instead of putting rice in the box they put Mac and cheese and curry chicken u top of that with cabbage and 2 pc of burned dry plantains. Never going here again waste of time and money.

I brought a friend to Malakhi today to celebrate her graduation.Atmosphere- For some reason, the heat was not working properly and the dining area was cold- my toes were freezing and my large puffer jacket was zipped all the way up the entire meal. Our server had on a whole sweatsuit, hiking socks and skull cap and other guests kept their winter coats on too. Their card system was down as well. We literally paid via CashApp and Zelle for our meals.Service- so of course we order rum punches from our server Barri to warm up. And I just want to be clear that Barri was an awesome server and bartender and explained everything very well.Food- the appetizer of jerk wings was delicious and hot. I ordered an entree of curry goat with coconut rice and my friend ordered oxtail with rice and peas. The plating was really nice, the meat hot and saucy- there were only three oxtail pieces though. The vegetables, rice and plantain were cold. It was as if the sides were plated right away and left out to cool while the meat warmed. We let Barri know and she said she’d let the chef know.Another disappointment was the Mac and cheese not being ready. We ordered at 2pm, three hours after opening and honestly from the explanation and having worked in the food service industry in the past, it sounds like food prep wasn’t done in a timely fashion unfortunately, so of course we missed out on that.I like Malakhi, it’s a Black owned business with a good overall product, chill decor and space for fun events. They have to make sure to not miss when it comes to their baseline offerings though.

Terrible customer service!! I called around 6 to see what time they stop serving food. I was told that the kitchen close at 9 and I would need to order before 9pm.. I called between 8:30 and 8:45 I was told that the kitchen was closed. So I drove to the restaurant it was empty and I saw one person waiting on food. I asked the lady near the front door if I could order and she said no.

It would be nice if the restaurant picked up the phone to answer a question

Small portionsfor the cost. ONE OXTAIL is ridiculous; curry chicken was dry; jerk chicken was dry, no flavor just spice and the sauce was worse. Cabbage were meh; plantains were burnt and you can taste that it was cooked in old oil; rice and peas were bland. Will not be going back.

I placed an order via UberEats and while eating the subpar curry chicken, I felt something wire-like in texture touch the roof of my mouth. It was a hair. A very LONG hair, and I am thoroughly disgusted as I sit on the phone with UberEats attempting to get my money back for this nasty mess.
