This was my first time at Nathan’s Dairy Bar. I got the hot apples with pumpkin pie and graham cracker twist soft serve ice cream. AMAZING. quickly became one of my favorite soft serve spots in all the places I’ve lived (which is a lot). The ice cream wasn’t overly sweet but had a nice obvious flavor without that cloying fakeness ice creams often have. Partnered with their spiced, warm apples they serve on the side to avoid melting it was possibly the perfect fall treat. The apples were nicely cooked and slighhhtly crunchy while still being obviously stewed in the caramel and spices. They had a bold flavor that was again perfectly sweet instead of dripping in sugar. SO good.

I used to come here a lot. Recently, they have changed the containers of their sundaes. I came here and got just vanilla with cookie dough. I used to get this all the time however no one said that it also comes with whipped cream and cherry. I ate the sundae. However, the whipped cream gave me a terrible stomachache. Additionally, the ice cream itself didn’t taste like anything. I believe the custard at Freddy’s is better and relatively the same price. Nathan is not as good as it used to be.

Hot cake season topped with butter pecan soft serve. Friendly service and reasonably priced. they were voted #1 ice cream in the area for good reason.

I mean, I'm from Wisconsin, and I'm VERY partial to Wisconsin custard, but Nathan's is pretty darn good, and closer to my current home. I do make a point to hit Nathan's when I'm craving some frozen treats!
