The worst service. They cannot handle FF. I loathe trying to get drinks there.

The Philadelphia Tavern was busy as it was one of the Friday nights where Manassas closes off the streets for a block party. Ordered the Hot Pastrami on Rye with fries, real good flavor and the fries were seasoned. Had a Bourbon and coke to drink.
Yuengling beer and the Philly cheese steaks are also added.

This is one of our family's go-to dinner spots. Their 'bar chips' (or whatever the proper name is) are awesome.

We spent First Friday 9/5/25 here with a large group on the patio so we could watch the band. Had a great time and were NEVER short on drinks!! Thanks philly Tavern!

Cheesesteak is one of the best. Extra white American cheese add some salt and your good to go. My next trip I will order extra meat.

You want something that wont leave your chest with that tight feeling then this is the cheesesteak place. Don't let the wood décor deter you.

Visiting from Washington State, my brothers took us here for one of our last dinners.
Large portions on the cheese steaks and over all flavor was really great.
Our server was one of their regular servers and gave us great attention for being outside.
Id say the biggest comment I have is that the meat portions and plating were inconsistent. You can see in my picture it looks like the meat was just slapped on the bun and not even cared about for some of the orders.
Like I said, over all flavor was great but consistency needs some attention.

Went out for karaoke night. Karaoke was fun. Started a tab. I ordered nothing but beer and was charged for 3 shots of Jameson in addition to the beer. I brought it up to the staff and they said I ordered the drinks for myself and my friends. I went in alone… The bartender, Tiffany I think, said she would review the tapes and if I ordered the beverages, they would call the cops and have me banned. I said, “okay, let’s review the tapes.” She hopped on her phone while her and the other bartender, Mike, gave me a sh*tty attitude while threatening to review the tapes and call the cops. While waiting to review tapes, I got called up for karaoke, so I sang a song and went back to the bar to ask to review the tapes and finish closing out at the appropriate amount. They yelled at me to get out, so I went outside muttering to myself, “okay, let’s call the cops and review the tapes.” I had a feeling they wouldn’t call, so I called the cops on them. I spoke with officer Coulter on the phone and asked for an officer to come on site so I could report my claim. I spoke with Officer Larado in person. Both Coulter and Larado were polite officers. I explained my case and…no tapes were reviewed. Officer on site thought I was reasonable and sober. No arrests, no cuffs, no arguments. Wish I could share the body cam footage. Just calm, collected conversation. But ultimately, I was charged for the 3 Jamesons, and got banned. Owner signed off on the formal ban paperwork while I stood there, coherent and polite. Don’t care much about the ban. I would certainly not go back after being robbed. The police said it wasn’t really worth anyone’s time to review 3 hours of footage and determine if I was overcharged by $30. I agreed. I called because it was more about the principle. Wanted to get some kind of paper trail and interactions taped. I know my phone call to the dept and my interactions with the officers will be saved. I called because who do you call when a bar shakes you down for $30? I shook hands with the officer, said goodnight , and received a formal ban from the premises in writing. Couldn’t file a complaint against them.

I spoke with the officer for a few minutes after the incident and he suggested I call Va ABC or the business bureau to have things sorted but who tf is gonna act on $30 lost? I’ll reach out to see. This is worth a few hours of calls and emails to get back at people who rob me.

I thought it was pretty crazy because I’ve been here several times in the last few months. Not enough to be considered a regular but regularly enough to where Mike knew the beer I usually drink. I always paid, always tipped, never argued or caused problems but tonight I guess none of my repeat business mattered. I obviously wasn’t very impaired, this review is being posted about 60-75 minutes after the incident. Just needed time to get home and get to typing

And I was a bartender for over 6 years. I’d like to think I understand bars and what’s appropriate behavior. I don’t believe I acted inappropriately in that establishment in any way in any of my visits. I just feel like I got robbed.

I’m filing an incident with my CC company, and I will be following up on this extensively with any appropriate agency. $30 is worth $30 but getting back at thieves is priceless.

TLDR; Got shaken down by a bar. Filing complaints with any VA organization that’ll listen. Not down with the brigand behavior

PT is cool to go to, just make sure you close out every single time you order or you might end up paying for someone else’s drinks and get a ban if you don’t wanna pay for drinks you neither ordered nor consumed.

Any cheesesteak, amoroso’s rolls, beer battered fish and chips, any rueben style sammich. Mostly between 13-15 bucks. Typically time of placing order to table is less than ~10 minutes for cheesesteaks, hoagies or sandwiches, makes for a quick in and out for lunch.

Small place, big flavor! This is a go to lunch spot for us in the old town area as their cheesesteaks and other sandwich offerings always hit the spot! The service is always friendly and efficient, and no matter what I end up ordering I am always very happy with it. Things get lively here at night as well, so definitely check this place out.

Parking: Your best bet for parking is to utilize the parking garage by the train station across the street

I went in for the first time the other day. I was going to sit at the bar. However, as I was getting ready to sit down I noticed the bartender, with the long dreads, talking to a server. I don't know what he said ( she wasn't doing anything but working hard) but she broke out in tears and went into the kitchen. I will not go to a pub that condones such behavior. So I left. I will not be back as I was told he does this often. Very inappropriate. Apparently this is how it is there. Unbelievable....

Cute little spot in the historic downtown Manassas area. We parked in a small lot that was free for two hours and very close to the restaurant. Very friendly staff. My traditional Philly cheese take was very good.
