Please avoid this place. $54.00 for barley any food. I don’t think I’ve had such expensive inedible medieval perpetual stew food.. We had to return the food because no joke we couldn’t eat anything. In the past this place was amazing but idk what happened. When my partner went to return it she was meant with a very defensive man that almost didn’t want to give a refund luckily we got one. He wanted to say it was our opinion on the food, that he made it this morning and he usually doesn’t do refund unless there a nail or hair in the food. So long story short DONT GO HERE!! sadly

Their website had a menu, but when I got there it was self serve and by the pound. Nonetheless the oxtails, chicken and ribs were great and well seasoned. The selection of sides was more than expected and tasty. Will be back for more!

I recently ordered catering from this company, and everything was absolutely delicious! The food was fresh, well-seasoned, and perfectly prepared. My guests couldn’t stop talking about how good everything tasted. The presentation was beautiful, and the portions were just right. On top of that, their customer service was friendly and professional from start to finish. I’ll definitely be ordering from them again for future events. Highly recommend!

I went in there looking for a chicken Jamaican beef patty, but all they had was beef. I decided to try it anyway, and the guy who was checking me out told me that people constantly only get one and get very mad when they get home cause they don’t have another. Due to that recommendation I got 2 and he was absolutely right. normally I prefer chicken Jamaican beef patties, but this was the best beef patty I have ever had. I cannot wait to go back and buy three more.

Overpriced food. Everything is placed on a scale and it's ridiculously overpriced. The owner drives luxury vehicles and then I realized why they're overcharging for mediocre jamaican food.

I didn't initially have the intention to order from this establishment. I was there to purchase a different item and decided to go in since it is Caribbean. I am very happy I did. I purchased a goat roti and it was delicious. It also was a big size. The owner was very nice. Next time I am in the area I will purchase from him again.

The food is nasty.
I ordered food on Uber eats. Oxtail plate was so greasy and unseasoned. They only gave me 2 oxtails to begin with and both were a disappointment. The rice and peas were not seasoned and had excess grease. They gave me one teaspoon of cabbage. And the plantains are just pitiful. Look at them. Probably the worst Jamaican food I’ve ever had. My chicken plate doesn’t look edible. That’s the photo you see here. I wouldn’t feed this to my dog. Look at how greasy those greens are. Threw it in the trash.
What a waste of money. If you are not going to serve food with passion, then just shut the place down. This is highway robbery.
I have never left a 1 star review- for any restaurant but I’m really upset. Imagine spending over $50 and you still go to bed by hungry. Not even hot sauce could have fixed this disaster. I really want my money back!

Nah they gotta shut this place down. If you even wanna a try a new spot do not go here. I should’ve just gone to the dominos that’s right next door. Absolutely unappetizing and for the by the pound price is a crime. DONT COME HERE.

First I'd like to start by saying that I've frequenting this restaurant for many years. The food is always good. The owner...always warm and friendly (the husband). Recently I had the misfortune of meeting the wife. VERY HATEFUL and down right rude to customers! If she's not verbally disrespectful she's rolling her eyes just being nasty! I regret leaving such a review since dealing with the husband (Sean) has been a pleasure for about 6 years. The wife undoubtedly hurts this business and I will stear friends and family away from this place.
UPDATE***
This place has gone down hill!
The quality of the food has gotten terrible (dry and bland).
The food sits in the warmer drying out.
It use to be very good!
My last THREE visits there left me very disappointed!
I hate to see and have to say that this restaurant may not survive in its current state!
It's DEFINITELY not worth the asking price.

The food is good BUT you do not get no where near as much food as other carribean spots. Also I ordered online and it still took 30min after I was there to get my food.

I recently visited Tropical Bites, and while the lady who served me was extremely nice and welcoming, my overall experience was a letdown.
The pricing system, which is by the pound, caught me off guard. I ordered the oxtails, which were $16.99 per pound. My total came out to be $41, which I felt was steep.
My main issue was that the dish lacked the authentic Caribbean/Jamaican flavors I was craving. The oxtails were cooked well, but the seasoning was bland and uninspired.
I do want to acknowledge that I arrived 30 minutes before closing, which might have impacted the quality of my meal. Perhaps the kitchen was winding down, and the flavors weren't as vibrant as they would be during peak hours.
Regardless, for $41, I expected a more satisfying and authentic Caribbean culinary experience. While the service was warm and friendly, the food fell short of my expectations.

This was not good at all . The rice and beans were hard. The cabbage was under seasoned. I wouldn’t recommend this place. The coco bread was cold bread that had no flavor. Waste of money.

Ribs were dry. Jerk chicken was good. Not bad overall. Food is weighted. If you eat a lot, you will be spending over $20 for one plate.

Being from NYC I love getting my Caribbean food so I was happy to find a spot here. NYC spots don’t use scales to charge and I don’t like being limited with how much food I can get. Way too overprice for my liking.
