This restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip to Marion. Service was delightful with friendly staff that were quick and attentive. The food was amazingly quick considering we dropped in with a group of ten people rather late in the day. Portion sizes were appropriate. I recommend giving them a try. You won't leave hungry!

Great food and great employees! If you ever want to eat at a restaurant that makes you feel like you’re at home, Downtown Pioneer is the place. All the girls who work there are awesome with great attitudes and hospitality. Their specials are so yummy and their breakfast is SO GOOD!!!! Go by and see them!

Our waitress was nice. My meal was lackluster, and most of their food comes directly from a frozen truck. They usually serve breakfast all day. The interior is nicely outfitted but not super clean.

Do not know what the food tastes like. Waited at least 20 minutes to be waited on while the waitress replenished everyone else's coffee, drinks, etc. Then a second waitress did step in and took our coffee order and then disappeared without taking our food order. Waited another 10 minutes without receiving anything. We left. Went to another wonderful business a short distance away where we were served promptly and had a great breakfast. Will not return to Pioneer. I have never felt so invisible and ignored by a wait staff. Only one other couple came in after us and they were there a short time and were ordering as we left.

The positives: I like the lights on the ceiling and the wall poster. I liked the roll.The negatives: I am nearly certain I’m eating microwave dinner/hungryman food. The mashed potatoes were made from flakes. The green beans were so salty they weren’t edible. The meat was “wet” and had an awful texture. I liked the roll, but I like frozen yeast rolls that I can buy at Walmart! We are in Marion often, we won’t be back here though. Not having fountain drinks is a pet peeve of mine too. Getting a 20oz drink that I can’t get a refill of…?

Stopped here while camping at Hungry Mother for breakfast on a Saturday. Wonderful atmosphere and delicious breakfast. We even went back on Sunday! Highly recommend!
