I’ve been in the foodservice game my entire professional life, so when a guest enters the establishment at 2:00 in the afternoon, which in my world is the peak of lunch service and a cook hollers ‘we’re closed’ over the din of mealtime conversation, he is in the wrong business, so instead of fish tacos and a few cocktails, I gladly gave my money to the kids at KFC. Needless to say, the staff at The Wooden Pickle should be well aware of where they can insert said pickle.

I had the portobello sandwich on ciabatta and it was delicious. My friends had burgers and the crab/shrimp appetizer and enjoyed their choices. Service was good, despite it seeming like our server was serving all of the restaurant. She was steady and seemed to get it all done. We waited a bit at times, but it wasn’t to the point of being annoying. I was just in town for work, but went back for lunch the next day before returning home (and chose the portobello sandwich again). My friends were local and they said they will be back.
The glare in the picture shows the proximity to the Lincoln Theater, across the street. The picture was bad, but I thought it was a nice way to point that out..

My wife and I wanted to try somewhere new to eat while on our vacation. We walked through town earlier in the day and saw the Wooden Pickle, but it was closed. We came back at dinner and saw it was a line to get in, and we decided to wait. The wait wasn't long since we went a head and sat at the bar instead of waiting for a table. The restaurant was extremely busy, but we didn't wait long to be served our drinks. We had a chance to talk with bartender about choices on the menu before deciding what we would order. I was impressed that she took that time even though she was busy. We received our food, and it was awesome. I got the Mahi Mahi Street Taco, and my wife got the Baja Shrimp Taco. We decided to trade on the last Taco, but after one bite, we traded back, the Mahi Mahi was too good to trade.
This was a very nice find in Marion. The restaurant has a great feel to it. With the excellent food and perfect service. I could not have been happier with the choice.
Our server Kasie was friendly knowledgeable and attentive. Her recommendations were excellent.
This is certainly a place I would recommend if in the area.

In Marion on business, my wife and I discovered The Wooden Pickle. What a wonderful and cozy restaurant located in the heart of downtown. We shared a bowl of wonderful Brocolli Cheddar soup for an appetizer. My wife ordered the WP Burger with Pickle Fries, and I ordered The Farm Burger, sans bun, and Pickle Fries as well. She loved her burger, as did I mine. The fried egg on my Farm Burger was perfect as was the garlic aioli! We were too full for the two slices of Pumpkin Cheesecake we ordered, so we took them to go and they were smashing as well later! The meal and the service were superior, very fairly priced, and we highly recommend visitibg The WP!

The Wooden Pickle will try to impress their customers, and they did. The food is excellent and I recommend the blue cheese chips. The main course burger was probably the best I've had. We missed last year because of Helene, but we are so glad we made a visit this year. We will go again.

When we arrived we were greeted with a smile. 😊 Heather, our waitress, was very attentive, friendly and professional. We had brewery fries (yum) strawberry summer salad (candied pecans and feta complimented the salad) farmer burger (burger was juicy and the egg yoke was cooked perfectly) mahi mahi street tacos (loved it) and confused mac n cheese (was creamy and chicken was seasoned perfectly) All the food was excellent. We were so full we couldn’t get dessert but had a nice selection. This ended our first day of our road trip perfectly. Highly recommend.
