Had an amazing experience for our 4th anniversary. The custom menus for our anniversary and for our dog’s meal was so sweet. Get yourself an outdoor cabana if you have a pup - so worth it!

Food was incredible and portion sizes were perfect. We had the green salad, the baked bread, the bison, the confit chicken leg and the apple cheesecake.

The two things that made our meal stand out was the great service by Sarah Jo and how well they took care of our dog. Sarah Jo was THE BEST! Super personable, answered all of our questions, and always made sure we were taken care of.

This restaurant is housed in a cute rustic building which was converted to a restaurant in the center of the town Marshall. We ordered smashburger for the appetizer and the bison filet steak for our entree. The vegetables are all sourced from local farms and prepared fresh. The burger was very tasty with all the flavors coming together perfectly with the onions and unami bacon jam.

We went to Field and Main for a family birthday dinner with 10 family members. We were put in one of their large outdoor pavilions and everything was amazing: the food, the service, the atmosphere, and the overall experience. Every dish we ordered was served quickly snd in cooked to the perfect temperature. Duck, scallops, and vegetarian dish were all memorable, well seasoned. Asnd perfect temperature. Desserts were scrumptious! Great experience start to finish. Love this place, highly recommend it.

I typically drive out to Marshall for special occasion dinners at Field & Main. It doesn't feel fussy but the food and drinks are incredible and the service is top notch. They even have a kids' menu - though I have yet to bring my kiddos to enjoy this gem. I'm a vegetarian so having more than just a boring plate of vegetables at dinner is a big deal to me!

For a more private experience you can reserve a cabana (enclosed with air conditioning, or leave the door open on a beautiful day!). It's an easy drive down 66 from northern Virginia... definitely worth the trip!

Appetizer portions at high entree prices. $50 for an overcooked duck leg. Similar $$ for a few scallops. The sheds, they call them cabanas, have unfinished pressure treated pine in spots. So, meh. Outstanding service however, so very large tip called for.

What a wonderful place. We came for the chef tasting menu and did not leave disappointed! The staff were all attentive, helpful, and prompt. The food was fantastic. We left very full after five courses! Especially loved the Rockfish. We will definitely be back!

We have been fans of this restaurant for several years, but last night was a standout experience. We ate in one of the reservable little cabanas, where the woody interior, dimmable lighting, and lo-fi wooden box that amplifies your own pick of music from your phone made for a perfect environment to celebrate our 29th anniversary. The staff exemplify friendly professionalism and every course and cocktail was on point. You can expect complex flavors and textures, beautiful plating and excellent care in a relaxed and sophisticated setting if you visit Field and Main. One note: if you reserve a cabana, you may have a slightly longer wait to be seated because the table before you might lose all track of time in their own little oasis. Order a cocktail or glass of wine in the lobby or bar and know it will be worth the wait.

What a gem!! My mother in law reserved a cabana for my birthday dinner this past Saturday and it was EVERYTHING I could have dreamed up. The service was top notch. Our server was amazing and thoughtful. The food was amazing! I had the trout and the crème brûlée cheesecake and I’d highly recommend them both! The cabana had beautiful hanging lights and a cute speaker you could sit your phone in and play whatever music you would like. It was a beautiful elegant vibe! Id highly recommend!!

My 1.5 year old loved being able to roam free around our cabana. I went into the main dining area to use the restroom and it also looked like a beautiful space! The restrooms were clean and stocked with clean wash rags as well as paper towels.

We had a wonderful time at Field and Main dining in the cabanas with our pups! We waitstaff is incredibly attentive, food is delicious and the ambience in the private cabana was perfect.

I would like to provide a very flattering review for our Friday evening 11/22/24 visit at this unique restaurant! My wife and I and another close family couple were celebrating my 74th birthday. The hostess greeted us warmly and offered our personalized menus (I was the Birthday Boy honored) and immediately showed us to our fireplace side table. Andrew was our server and he was knowledgeable and engaging and attentive (without smothering us) and we had a delicious dinner/dessert as well as enjoyed the specialty cocktails (the Pomegranate Martini was a big hit at our table). The restaurant owner served us a pre-dinner Butternut Tea that warmed us up for the main meal. The Trout entree was especially delicious and enjoyed by 2 of 4 diners. We took our own special bottle of wine (not on the Wine List there) and gladly paid the $30 corkage fee as we have been waiting for a special occasion to enjoy this vintage from our home cellar. This was our 3rd visit at Field & Main and our other couple's first visit there. We had such a good time that we will be returning again in the future! I highly recommend this restaurant!! -Richard Ramsburg, Oakton, VA

Great service and a menu composed entirely of local ingredients. Unusual preparations were thoroughly enjoyed through all five courses of the meal. I regret not taking more photos to share.
