Everyone raves about this restaurant so we decided to go there for our 40th anniversary. The chicken was so tough it almost flew off my plates while trying to cut it. The pasta was overcooked. The marinara sauce was OK, but covered a multitude if sins underneath.

My husband and I had dinner here recently for the first time to celebrate an achievement. I made reservations the night of just to make sure we'd have a table after driving out there. We ordered champagne, two appetizers, two meals and two desserts. We ended up taking a big bag of leftovers home. Our server Mel was great! Attentive, not pushy, helped us with choosing our champagne and food, friendly. Everything we ordered was delicious. We loved the lavender garlic butter! I got the ribeye special that night and it was huge. I only ate like a third of it, but I was probably half full on crab and artichoke dip. It had a mushroom sauce on it. It definitely went home with us. We were close to other tables, yet it didn't seem crowded or loud. Comfy chairs, contemporary decor. It was an enjoyable evening.

Absolutely delicious! First, this historic mansion has been turned into a lovely restaurant and was the perfect place for a romantic dinner to celebrate our silver anniversary. Vicki was the sweetest server and made sure everything was great! I had the Beef Tenderloin Tournedos and my husband had the special (ribeye with shiitake mushrooms); both were divine. Every bite was so good I cleaned my plate and can't recall the last time I've done that anywhere! For dessert we had the Sinatra and the chocolate cheesecake and both were sooo scrumptious. We will be back to savor more for sure!

Went for Thanksgiving. It was the first time I visited White Dog Bistro. I joined old friends for dinner. The waitress was so pleasant and on top of her game. Her smile was infectious, and she was very attentive. 6 of my friends ordered the Seafood Au Gratin while 2 of us ate the traditional Turkey and Ham dinner. I started with the Lobster Bisque, which was delicious, so I had high hopes for the rest of the dinner to come. But as it turned out, the turkey dinner was pretty disappointing. While the turkey was perfectly cooked and very juicy, the mashed potatoes were watery, the ham was just OK, the sweet potatoes tasted off, and the dressing was undercooked reminding me of half cooked bread dough. The green beans, rolls, gravy, and cranberries were made perfectly, so the whole dinner was very unbalanced between delicious and not so delicious. My friends loved the Seafood Au Gratin, and they loved the desserts (I skipped dessert), so I was really disappointed I didn't enjoy my Thanksgiving dinner. I'm inclined to believe the food is typically delicious at White Dog Bistro based on my friends' past reviews and excitement to eat there again. I might give the Bistro another try since the amazing staff and ambiance helped me enjoy being with friends.

Apparently, the owners of White Dog Bisto took offense to this review. They didn't try to contact me. They didn't respond to my review asking to talk about it. What they did was contact the person who reserved the table where I sat. How they connected me to her is a mystery and suspect. Maybe they took my description of the food served at my table and searched the reservations to find the person who made the reservations, but no one was mentioned in the review by name so they had to do research to find her. Why not contact me directly through this review? By being underhanded, the owners have now instigated friction into my friendship with the person who made the reservation. Who behaves that way after high school? Causing problems in a friendship because you don't like my review is an immature move. I don't know what was said to my friend by the owners, but it was enough to make my friend mad at me and take my review personally. If I could rate this kind of underhanded behavior from a business, I'd absolutely change the 3 star to a lower star and change the 5 stars I gave for service to a much lower star as well. Instead, I'll stick by my original review on the experience and staff from that day. Just know the behavior after the review has damaged a friendship, cost White Dog Bistro a customer, and gives me plenty to share with other people about how the owners do business. I thought hard about relaying this extra added bonus behavior the owners of the restaurant have given me for the Holidays. I have no doubt they'll call my angry friend and tattle on me for calling them out in this update. But I think anyone who might have an issue with any part of their White Dog Bistro experience should know there's a huge chance the owners will come after you for being honest, even if it means causing friction between friends. PS. I take back the part of the review that says I may go back and try a different dish. That's definitely not happening.
