This is such a cute little place. The pizza is fantastic. Seriously some of the best that I've had. The cheese tastes better than anything I've had before. I don't know if it's farm fresh or what but it's so good. The smoked brisket chili was also fantastic. The smokey flavor of the brisket is so well incorporated into the chili. The staff was also really friendly and patient. We stopped in for what we thought would be a quick grab and go and decided to eat there after we'd already placed our order. They were very accommodating and nice. Great little place, and if we're driving through again we will definitely make a stop here!

Our first trip here. We have family in the area and hope to live in Monterey one day ourselves. The Highlander is very clean and has a pleasant atmosphere. I tried the seasonal fare pictured (Brisket Chili, Slaw, and Cornbread). Very delicious! My husband had the ham and cheese sub, which he gave a thumbs up. I also had the unsweet tea was very good to my taste. We're so glad Monterey has this new place - our best wishes to the owner.

The Highlander is EXCELLENT! I had the Monterey Hero. This sandwich reminded me of my favorite sub shop in Nashville. The ingredients were top notch and the hot pepper relish was the perfect amount! Their coleslaw actually is the real deal. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

The pizza was great, even the one with a cauliflower crust! The fried oysters were delicious, and the zucchini fries were so good, I'm making them my go-to fave from here! All the standards you could need are here, and are top quality. Pizza, Fried Chicken, Awesome sandwiches, Ice cream, Shakes, Fries, Salads. This is a must stop spot.
