It's always a delicious spot. Pricey these days, but great service and great food.
Absolutely amazing and local trout is worth the stop in
Paul was great. Bacon Jam Burger was fantastic. Will stop by every time I am in town!
Outstanding burger and trout. Great service from Paul and rest of the team. Stop here!
We have been coming to High's for years. This was the first visit since the upgrade. Food was excellent and service perfect.
The owner is hyper-focused on food quality and service, and it shows. It's always a pleasure to stop in at this establishment on our motorcycle trips from Canada. We are looking forward to our next visit.
A Hidden Gem with Heart and History
We had the pleasure of visiting this charming little restaurant and it absolutely made our day. The place has an oldies vibe that makes you feel like you've stepped back into a simpler, friendlier time. The food is all freshly made and absolutely delicious—clearly crafted with care.
What stood out just as much as the food was the service. Two young ladies were working the floor, and they never once lost their smiles. Despite the summer heat, they moved from table to table with cheerful energy, constantly checking if anyone needed drink refills or anything else. Their hospitality was genuine and warm, something you just don’t find everywhere anymore.
Make sure to flip through the menu and read the story behind the “Liars’ Table”—it’s a lighthearted piece of local history that adds even more character to the experience.
Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after the meal is over.
The food was very good. Even has an old-time soda type shop. Mike shakes made like in the 50's. They were delicious. Was a little expensive but the food was worth it. No children's menu.
The personnel were very nice but the service was slow. They were short on staff so being so busy you can understand the wait.
Me and my wife went for a day trip to Highland County and spent a relaxing time in Monterey. Stopped in at Highs Restaurant and was not disappointed. Food and staff was excellent! Would highly recommend going there without the business of the maple festival. Way more pleasant time to immerse in their ways and culture!
