We ate lunch at the cafe after hiking in Grayson Highlands. Food and service in restaurant was 5 stars. Our server was the only one waiting tables and she was doing a great job. I would not recommend the macaroni salad but everything else we ate was very good. The store is disorganized, unkempt and unclean. The restroom….don’t use it. Disgusting.

Most amazing pre-hike breakfast for a great price. Loved the old school photos displayed in the cafe area.

My review focuses on the cafe only. Our party of four was delighted by the good food, reasonable prices and friendly staff. The cheesesteak sub, jumbo burger and perfectly fried onion rings were delicious! Loretta took great care to serve us with a smile and her great personality. We plan to visit again!

The location and the owners are the best in Volney, VA. The staff is attentive, the food is great and the prices are very reasonable in today's market.
The ICE CREAM is the best around and the scoops are huge.
The pizza is great and very reasonably priced.
The patio porch is great with rocking chairs and plenty of seating.
Breakfast is always great and made to order.
We will always come back!

They have insane portion sizes. The food is delicious and the prices are excellent as well. Well worth the money spent. We were hesitant to stop as we aren't from the area but extremely happy that we did.

Good food, great service, but the store and the bathroom were dirty. Very cheap for amount of food you can get. 8.50 for jumbo double burger, I’d assume 1 1/3 pounds of meat.

Stopped by Corner Market & Cafe while visiting from Virginia Beach — one of only a couple of cafes in the area, and I’m so glad we chose this one! The service was excellent; our waitress Diane was incredibly attentive, quick, and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of.
I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fried squash — everything was delicious and cooked just right. The only thing I’d mention is that the side of cornbread was a bit dry, but it didn’t take away from the overall meal.
All in all, a great experience. Friendly staff, tasty food, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. I’d definitely come back if I’m ever in back the area.
No restaurant on sundays which was originally the busiest day before new management took over. Residents are put off by the radical changes away from the once family restaurant it once was. It’s now your typical (but way less selection) neon signed, beer selling, low value gas station. Owners are friendly but it’s the quality of business that is the issue. Take out would be nice to try too but they don’t always answer their phones within restaurant hours… tbh it seems intentional.

For a restaurant in a gas station this is great. Good service, huge menu of good southern food. Solid stop in the area. Cant beat the prices either.
Food was OK. Prices were much better here than most other places. Service was lackluster. The staff & waitress were nice but she was inattentive. Her accent was difficult to understand and she blamed us when she misunderstood our order. For most of the meal she was MIA.
Just stopped for coffee.
Nice family owned restaurant and store. The food is average but the service is exceptional. This store has a lot of potential to be a main focus and major stop for travelers.
I've been to this place quite often over the years. Now it's a shell of its former self and NOT in a good way. The food is passable, but the service and the atmosphere is terrible. I went there this evening to grab a bite and what used to always be a bustling place, is no longer and hasn't been since the new owners took over. Now, they have vaping products everywhere and lottery scratchers. Worse, the food isn't as good and my main complaint was the service. There was one other person eating in the restaurant when I arrived. The cook and the waitress were sitting at a table, playing on their phones. I was greeted and brought a menu and got my food (food was mediocre) fairly quickly but that is the only good thing I can say about. The waitress never came back to ask me if I needed anything or if it was alright. Instead I had to sit there and watch her and the cook sit back down at that table and play on their phones scrolling through very loud videos. I thought to myself about how rude it is for anyone to play loud videos in a public setting but it's a whole other level of rudeness and disregard when you are representing a business and doing it right in front of your customers and forcing them to listen to your crap. What I assume is the owner, came in and sat down with them for awhile and certainly never admonished them, in fact one of the ladies handed her phone to him and he did it too. I guess he doesn't understand that you just don't do that in front of your customers when you are running a business. Apparently they have no clue!
